What is the deal with this joke of a vendor they are using? I have had two PHIs done in the past 3 months (one was on a 80+ yr old with a $25,000 face, which probably triggered it). I noticed on the site the other day they wanted a PHI on this case, I had the client to call them and they said "we don't have your info yet, wait a few days until Monumental gets it to us". Huh?

Then to TOP IT OFF, in both cases, after the PHI was done, they told me the client denied signing the app, and that they would require a *NEW* application. WTF? What are they asking that causes the client to deny signing something that required like 3 or 4 signatures. In the last case there was a large check sent in with the app, duh of course they signed the app, where did they think the check came from.

Monumental is starting to suck.

Yup, they be sucking, alright.

I won't use them unless I run into a COPD or >1 or <2 heart disease prospect.

For a time, I had sent them a ton of business, but I won't send them my lion's share until they fix the PHI and become more agent-friendly.

Jacob -- they will also start doing more PHIs on your people if they "catch" you submitting one they do not like, as I and others have found.

I find that Mon is the most difficult company to work with that I carry. That's saying a lot compared to some of the ones I have that are known to be difficult.

I only picked them up for the COPD immediate coverage and the credit card acceptance. They stopped the credit cards now and I haven't written even one COPD with them. While they will cover them immediate it is at standard rates and they blow.

As for that phone interview I do know that it's quite invasive and takes 30 minutes or so to complete. It's also a bad sign when they order one. I've got one now that they ordered a phone interview on. I'm going back next week to just put him with AmCon. They are $5/mo higher than Mon prefferred but he won't get preferred with them now I don't think.

They are just difficult all the way around. You should see how difficult they are when a client cancels them and is trying to get their cash value. They are almost as bad as LH on that.

Re: Monumental and Their Ridiculous Univita PHI

I just had a lady client call today with a monumental policy and said she never got a beneficiary change in the mail and that was two weeks ago:skeptical:

Funny you say that -- I have a lady saying the same thing, but for documentation saying the beneficiary change was made...

Re: Monumental and Their Ridiculous Univita PHI

I don't really have much problem with Monumental. I wish they did POS interviews and approvals. But other than that they are pretty easy to work with.

Re: Monumental and Their Ridiculous Univita PHI

Did you send one?

......................

I called in to have it done and told her it was on its way....that was two weeks ago. I will be calling them in the morning. My home office was assigned to Iowa, so I am surprised they dropped the ball since they have been good.

Just send her one with a return envelope. Show her you take care of her. You want her to remember you, not Monumental. IMHO

I write a fair amount of business off of Bene changes.

X2 on this point. I train my clients to call me with issues. I stole back a former client just recently she had been waiting for 2 weeks for a form from the HO that the new agent did just like you left it up to the HO to get it done. I pointed out that once the form came she still needed to get the employer to sign off and another 2 weeks for her money.

I filled out the form had her sign it got the approvals and said in passing I will probably get the money to you before the other agent even checks back.

You can bet she called a couple weeks later, I was off by one day the other agent called the day before the client got her money I had already told her the funds had left the other company. My now current client told the other agent just how badly she dropped the ball and moved her money back to me.
