No Shows and Cancellations

I will tell you no shows are just a part of the business even when you call and talk to folks and they tell you they will be there you will get no shows.

Here is what I do when I get them...go see someone else. Some times I hope some people no show it allows me to go and door knock some folks before I go home for the night in order to set more appointments for the next day.

Bottom Line Just get over it and look at it as a part of the business.

I would say this is some sound advice. I am finding about 1 in 10 of my pre set appts by my telemarketer are no shows. That can leave me with usually a 2-4 hour gap between appointments. Perfect time to go knock on some doors and see what happens. Nothing else to do unless I want to sit and McDonald's and work on getting back to my AEP weight.:nah:

The best way I found to avoid no shows at their front door is to sell Final Expense over the phone. That is what drove me to learn how to do phone sales.Got tired of no shows, traffic, driving all over, having to wear shoes and long pants......

I've found that is also the best way to avoid doing FE business at all.:biggrin:

I used an appointment setter one time and was not impressed at all. Most of them were cancelled before I even got there. I would state without question it was the worst I ever did out of a batch of 25, which I have been doing for going on 4 years.

The appointment setter was a lady and she did sound very nice on the phone. She came highly reccomended and I had high hopes she would work out. It could have been a timing thing as the leads were from last November. It seems late Nov and early DEcember are bad times for the FE industry. Its tough to get people to keeep appointments

Well that is not true for everyone I know agents who wrote $30,000 in the month of December Last year!....They just kept working while the other agents were doing something else. This whole appointment setter business is a rip off. I have found I am better at it than most of those so called appointment setters, and I get to keep my money.

I know a couple of guys who use them religiously and they are heavy hitters. They like going to a house not knowing what to expect and just assuming they are going to sell them.

As far as December goes. Different strokes for different folks! I know a guy who owned a YUGO and loved it; but thats not the norm. MOst people who owned them hated them. Most of the guys I know in this business don't do well in December. It could vary well be a "Mind Set"
