Opinions on My Updated Site

I don't know Dave Miller but I know that he doesn't know what he is doing after a 5 second review of your site.

Did you not look at the link I gave you? If you can overlook the obvious you deserve to waste all your money with this Dave Miller guy.

Really....Mr. Miller has helped me take my website to page 1 with 3 to 4 keywords as well as keywords I never even thought .....I have 2 $500,000 policys in underwriting right now as well as 3 solid leads this week which I feel good about writing 2 of them....the other one is in Alabama which I passed to a forum member.....so I have already wrote enough business to cover what I paid Dave to do.....snapperhead.....

Flashy looking site. visually its pretty appealing. despite the bashing of the "SEO guy" So many people do claim to know a lot about that topic and even make greater claims about promising top results.

Unless the SEO guy is a serious google expert watch out for those promises.

I will say the overall design is nice but the individual pages look like they could use some work.
*good luck with your site.

FYI, I'm sticking with D Miller on the SEO:1wink: I spent some time with copy and graphic changes on pages and would appreciate any constructive feedback you can muster up:biggrin: except maybe the "boring" comments:1rolleyes:

Oh yeah, finally started seeing some of my articles published on ezine, articlecity, etc. posted a few videos on youtube,,,yada...yada

In my opinion it a friendly page for viewers. The tabs are very easy to access except maybe for the overwhelming sizes of the pictures. In general I like it.

I think it looks great-

The pictures wont have an effect on SEO. I think only flash would impact that but im no Guru in that department.

Flash is no better or worse than a picture or an audio file. The problem with flash, pictures and audio is that Google can't read them. It reads the text on the page and ignores those files. I have a javascript generated Flash character on most of my pages. I do OK in the SERPs.

If your page has no text on it it won't rank; that is the problem with Flash. Many pages are just Flash. Flash isn't the problem; the problem is the absence of text.

If you have Flash and text, your ranking will be based on the text and the Flash will be ignored.

Load time might be a problem. You can code around it with CSS. You can put the flash file last in your code and still get it to show up on the top of your page.

You can also write code in PHP (and I assume other languages as well) that keeps the Flash file from loading at all if the page loads slowly. On my sites if a visitor uses dial up, they will probably see a static picture instead of the flash file.

I hate Flash sites. The fonts are always too small for my failing eyesight and most of the time there is no way to make them bigger.

I always click away from Flash pages in a ... flash!

I've done a bit of web design in the past (not to say in the least it makes me a professional; actually, I think the key to a good web designer is to be a good marketer), and it was too busy for me. But that's my personal opinion. I guess I'm a black and white, to the point kind of guy.

I read this post, and quite frankly I am a little disappointed by some of the criticisms on this thread. This guy is asking for some pointers not to be ripped a new one. Your site is fine dude! Could it be better? Sure, but whose couldn't? SEO is an art and is never finished you can't just say one day, "I'm done!" It keeps going as you learn and learn to express yourself. The guy is looking for some little tidbits of hope and some guys are ripping him. The truth is your site is really well optimized, could it use some more fresh content? Yes! Do I love the design? Yes! Thats it! Do you need more SEO? No I don't think so, I think that you guys did a great job (although some more backlinks couldn't hurt!) Also your site is pretty old (in years not design) and in that respect your already way ahead of me, and Google will love you if you add some quality content, and no one can do that except you as only you can prevent forest fires. (sorry wrong forum, I am in recovery)
The dude wants some good ideas and I think that he is pretty brave to post his site and let it be judged. Also this is his CAREER not his hobby so we shouldn't be mean.

Sorry, but this is incorrect. Google has no problem reading and determining Flash, This is a very Bad Myth.

Read Googles Webmaster Blog about Flash and the ability to index and understand Flash.

If your going to give website advice, you really need to Make sure it is Correct. No wonder so many people are confused with Proper Structure and Ranking.

I just looked at your site, Maybe its my browser, Just plain ole IE-7, but its all messed up on my end? a Big Blank Blue Square for the heading?
