Postcards Mailers

I know... hahahahahaahah... not the little girl version of hehehehehehehe....

The voice in the haunted mansion style hahahahahaahaha...... and there is no way out....

But they do work... Good Luck...
:chatterbox:

That's a little evil. I like it.

I send out personal letters, postcards get tossed in my opinion, letters get opened out of curiosity.
I'm running about 2.5-3% return

Just curious if you are doing either with the letters that you send:

1. Are you including a return address of any kind?

2. Are you hand addressing the envelopes?

My thinking is sending letters out without a return address of any kind. I usually open these, whereas when I get a letter that says exactly who it is from and I can tell on the envelope what the subject matter is likely to be, I'm a whole lot less likely to open it. What are your thoughts?

Learning a lot from you guys. I am also new to this industry. I like the idea of the letters. Also, have any of you tried Every Door Direct Mail? I just looked that up and seems like a cost effective way to start, except that it is not targeted to certain people as it goes to every single person in whatever route you chose at purchase.

thanks for all your input

So is this better than spending thousands of dollars on a targeted 1000 mailer campaign from a direct mail lead company?

Not sure because I haven't done either type of mailer before. I might give it a try soon and see what kind of results I get. You can find information on it directly from the USPS website.

Stop. What are you prospecting for?

If you are targeting nice houses and a route only mails to nice houses than sure try EDDM. If not then don't.

It's the rare case that EDDM works for a business mailing by themselves.

I was thinking of one of two things to try it out, let me know what you think.

1. Choose a middle income neighborhood to do a final expense/life insurance mailer.

2. Choose a low income neighborhood with a high concentration of over 65 to do a dual need Medicare advantage mailer.

I know these mailers are usually for local businesses like restaurants and such, but I'm just wondering if there is a way to make it work for insurance. I was planning to just spend a couple hundred dollars to test it out

Why don't you do the mailers from your office? Maybe selecting a zip code and printing out all of the address and names from the apprecial district. You could have someone in your office do it or hire a part time high school student to get that done in a couple of hours. It's a bit more cost effective and personalized. That's just me... I'm not an owner yet!
