Progressive / ASI Homeowner's...Thoughts?

Do you guys believe Progressive will eventually shed most of its non-standard business?

I dont see them doing that. They're aware of their reputation, and they want to change it to increase their standard business, but they aren't going to completely shed non-standard. As "FL P&C Broker" said, they want to make a push for preferred.

I'm wondering what the incentive is for agents to try to push their new ASI/bundle products are though. I heard some about their Platinum program, but haven't heard any real info about what it takes and what the benefits are

i was told by our rep that they're rolling out a program for select agents that would offer annual personal auto policies w/ better commissions and access to bundle w/ ASI.

I can bundle with ASI, can't most agents that have Progressive/ASI contracts? Haven't heard anything about the annual personal auto policy.

I think it depends on the state. In Florida only the PHA agents can bundle and they can offer a 12 month auto policy.

We only have the renters in NY and it is double or triple the rate of other carriers for renters insurance. I don't even quote it but people still think they are getting a multi policy discount by having 2 policies with me, not necessary two policies with the same company, I have a company who has renters for 80-100 a year so the think they are getting a huge discount anyway.

That doesn't sound overly enticing...

I think I remember seeing another post about this somewhere, but wasnt the level that you had to sell to hit plat/PHA with them like $250K?

Yeah I've heard a little about that. I think they're starting to roll it out in other states as well, but on a small scale

Anybody writing w/ ASI? I've seen some pricing come through that seems pretty darn competitive. I don't write much w/ Progressive BUT I can get an appt w/ ASI & I'm wondering if it's worth it? I have mutual's who'll competitively write home/dwelling fire business all day BUT they're nitpickers on inspections.

Thoughts on ASI?

I need a quote; 3 Bedroom, 2 bths brick veneer $50,000 Homeowners:twitchy:

Our rates with ASI have been very competitive. Although their RC's are typically higher than most of our companies for replacement cost, it typically doesn't reflect on the premium. Their underwriting is very tight on a of things. We have had a lot of luck writing HO4's with auto for people in their mid 20's. You do not have any binding authority with ASI. One disadvantage I have found is regardless if you are writing a married couple, the first named insured is the only person their system will pull the insurance score on. I typically check the husband and wife's insurance score with one of our other companies to see how I should start the quote in ASI.
