Libs are in chaos over this public option thing. Obama, Sebelius, Howard Dean, Congress, and lib voters are not even remotely on the same page. And then there is intra-tribal warfare between Congress and the Senate and between advocates of the various bills being proposed with the each house.
The public option is not going to happen. It is just a matter of how many people want to get chewed up in intra-tribal warfare along the way. We are looking at health co-ops most likely with language in a final bill that says that the public option can be triggered if certain benchmarks are not reached. That is a given. Socialist governments always hold that hammer over you to get compliance and they never truly go away. There are plenty of folks here who just want to see this settled once and for all. That is not going to happen. Every year will be a new threat. Think medicare advantage. Of course some of those threats may get turned back by the opposition but it will be a tug-of-war with the government from here on out for decades to come.

I'd like to see Obama grab his nuts and state publicly that he will not sign a bill that doesn't not have a public option. Then let the games begin.
