If you're Canadian, raise your hand
If you're French and Canadian.. raise both

Those simple minded bastages

Nope. They're banking on selling off that block of business. I believe it will change soon.

I did a POS aptical for FE;had the same exact problem.Question 2 part B [ 1-B] Within the past TWO YEARS,had heart or circulatory surgery,or had or been diagnosed as having a heart attack, congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, stroke, transient ischemic attack [ TIA], aneurysm, or a brain tumor?
The
POS aptical person said that MIB showed problem with the answer to the question. The MIB report showed that a application for health ins from 6 years ago showed a self reported congestive heart failure event from 10 years before.total 16 years ago.No futher treatment other then controled high blood pressure controlled for the past 7 years.
Yes even with a good contract, and knowing the people to call;sol. I withdrew the app,and placed it elsewhere.Too many other companies out there to put up with this bs.

So is this SOP for Foresters -- never mind what the application says, if they have ever had a heart attack or even a stent it's a decline?

Not alwyas. The only thing predictable about Foresters is their unpredictablity.

I had one approved with them last week that I just knew wasn't gonna fly. I already had my Monumental stuff out to complete when he got the decline or modified offer from Foresters. They took him level benefit.

Conversely I had decoined by them the week before for a med that the lady insisted she had never taken in her life or had any of the conditions that the medicine was for. I didn't fight they system on her's. I just pulled out my AmCon and got her covered.

To me Foresters is harder to read than RNA. And that's saying a mouthful.

I've had a similar situation with Foresters twice. Both times we called their Dr. and told them the situation and that we needed to pick up a letter on the Dr.'s letterhead and signed by the Dr. stating that the client was not diagnosed with ................(fill in the blanks) Issued immediately when Foresters received the letter. Not a difficult thing to get done in my experience. BTW I've found that if you ask a Dr. for a letter like this, you MUST tell them you will stop by and pick it up "after lunch" today or around 10am tomorrow, or something like that. If you wait until they send it out to you.........it just simply won't happen (usually).

That being said, I have had situations like this happen with most other companies as well.

I had a couple that I wrote Foresters on a few weeks back. Both approved for level coverage, and they paid for a year so I sent the checks to Foresters NY address with the apps. Got two separate checks so as not to confuse the morons.

Guess what happened? they turned him down, after they had approved both of them at level on the phone. Turns out he brought up his colonoscopy which the results were pending on, after all the questions were asked. The bitch at Apptical noted what he said so Foresters could decline it(without telling me) but she had already checked no to the health question, so the decision engine granted level coverage, thus fooling me into thinking all was well.

A couple weeks later I get an email from Foresters, all it says is "adminstrative requirements were not met, and your client isn't eligible". Took an act of congress just to figure out what I posted above. Would have simply wrote him ACI, but they already had both of their checks and the wife was issued level already.

To complicate things, I had sold them $160,000 Allianz annuity off the FE appointment so I didn't want things to go south right off the bat. Ended up getting the pathology report from his doctor which showed no problems, and had to go through my IMO (Neat Management) to get the damn policy issued. Pain in the butt. At least I made $14,000 off the annuity :)

I wrote a Foresters term policy a couple years ago. My field office did the quote. Sent in the app and was thinking the poicies would be sent out to the customer. Instead I got an email asking for $2 and chane more for the premium than what I'd submitted.

I was told that on the day the home office "ran the premium quote" the home office software was MALFUNCTIONING and the premium was going to be set AS OF THE MALFUNCTIONING DAY. (I kid you not)..

I called my upline. They'd run the quote correctly. Foresters told them AND ME the upline had run the quote directly. Foresters told them Foresters own home office software malfunctioned but that they HAD TO GO WITH THE PREMIUM ON THE DAY IT MALFUNCTIONED.

We went up to a senior vice president and finally they agreed to issue the policy using the submitted premium. The policy was written as a 20 year term.

Foresters issued it as an 18 year term. They backdated the policy 2 full years.

I bet nobody here would believe this actually happened.

From my perspective Foresters is just plain nuts.

Anybody else think that POS stands for something other than "Point of Sale" :)

I had the same issue with a client. She had a modified policy, and I sold her a level Foresters policy, more coverage for less premium....or so I thought. The company she had put a code on her MIB for COPD, and Foresters declined her. Much like yourself, I was sitting there thinking WTF????

This was the start of the hardest application I have ever worked for!!

(short version) I had to help the client get her MIB corrected. I had to get her Dr to write a letter stating that she didnt have COPD and hadnt been treated for it. Sent the letter to MIB, and to the other insurance company. Finally, we got her MIB clean, and she is now the proud owner of a Foresters policy!

I just had an agent call me 2 days ago with a similar situation with Foresters. After the client, agent, and doctor jumped through all the hoops, Foresters decided they didn't even want to look at it again!

Geez, can't they make up their mind?
