Happens all the time. Someone starts a thread, and all us resident experts jump in for a cheap way to strut our stuff and show each other how smart we are. 80 posts later, we realize that the OP never posted after the initial post... but boy we had fun dazzling each other with our brilliance.

Alston recommended two books, one of which I plan to read ASAP.
