If Trans would go to a voice app I would use that one.

I hate POS interviews but if I have to do one, might as well be a voice app. I like it because no mistakes on the app and you don't have to scrub or fax anything.

Now this 40 minute stuff is not acceptable in my book. I plan on trying it out in a few weeks once they have some time to fine tune.

I wouldn't have time to do one with them either. Can you imagine how long their's would take?

If it's taking RNA 45 minutes then it would take Trans almost 2 hours to get one done. When they do just a phone interview now it takes about 30 minutes.

I think your on to something. ..
You could start a phone interview. Go to your next appointment start that one, then the next start that one and head back to the first for a 30 minute wait to get an approval. Circle back to the other two

Then have lunch and do it again

Did my first one yesterday.. 37 minutes. The way I look at it is how long would it take me to fill out the entire paper app AND do the POS interview? The combination of the two between filling out an entire paper app and a phone interview typically takes me 25 to 30 minutes (I'm probably slower than most). With that being said, if it only takes 25 to 30 minutes to do a complete app with voice signatures over the phone the same amount of time it takes me to do a paper app and the POS then I think it's great and it's a wash AND it saves me time because I don't have to fax anything in.

That's the company line too. Heard the exact same comment from RNA last week.

My answer to them then was the same as mine to you now, yes, if that's all I had to was walk into the home and tell them we are going with RNA so let's pick up the phone and get started this would be fine.

But it don't work like that in the realo world. I do have to sell them on life insurance and them I have to decide which company to offer which means I have to go over all the health questions.

By the time I get to that point I don't have another 40 minutes to spend there.

If RNA is the company I were carrying then that argument would carry weight.

I agree with you about the 37 to 40 minutes is too long. The way I go about running my business, I can afford 25 to 30 minutes. The amount of time it takes me to fill out a paper app completely, do a POS AND fax in the app takes more than 25 minutes.. Anywhere around 40 is too long. Needs to be brought down.

Hey, at least you wouldn't have to worry about amendments anymore...

You are complicating a simple situation and you sound like a company shill. If you were filling the application out properly in the past, the change to a voice signature has now added 20-25 minutes to your process by forcing you to duplicate efforts. Now you must 1. gather application information(similar to past) on the worksheet and then 2. dictate it to a person slowly and clearly on the phone and 3. account for additional time for reading more complex authorizations and voice signatures.

The new quantity of time is just one part that fires me up. More important is how it effects the flow of the meeting and how it changes my interaction with the client in a meaningful way. The reason I liked RNA in the past was the concise predictability, interviewers were professional, they didn't venture off the script, and they didn't do anything from a personal perspective to create doubt in my clients' minds. The reason I avoid Oxford, UHL, Trans, MOO, Settlers and Aetna is the lack of consistency of interviewers creates emotional doubt in my client's mind. I never know what to expect and I don't need the PHI creating objections. My entire presentation is shaped to reduce objections based in emotion so the last thing I need is for the PHI to speak to the person for a longer period of time.

If you can't get the application filled out right, you don't care enough about your paycheck.

Old Method

Aetna interviewers have NEVER GIVEN ME AN ISSUE. They have been very consistent with me and my business.
