Royal Neighbors Changes

So they have preferred and standard level rates?

Yes. I used them a couple of weeks ago for a guy that has tons of seizures. He didn't qualify for the Preferred but did on the Standard. His rate was 36.73 for 50NT. COPD also is in the Preferred section.

The only thing I hate about LBL is that you have to have a base benefit of at least 35K before you can add AD.

For this plan (SIMPL) they also have a voice app that took awhile. I had forgotten about it and was a bit surprised when I called for the POS.

Oh yea...both NS and SM rates for each one (Preferred or Standard).

RNA is slamming me with emails about the new voice app. Latest email just got few minutes ago is stating they have acknowledged the agent feedback and are working on reducing their script to reduce interview time. We shall see how much they reduce it by lol.

If they had asked agents upfront what they wanted and needed then they wouldn't be in this scramble mode now.

How they ever thought this was a good idea is just beyond comprehension.

I did one today. There is room for improvement but it's not as bad as I expected. 24 minutes on the phone. Client was on for 12. I was caught off guard providing the info and I think the interview operator was still getting used to the process. Overall, I wasn't impressed but I will do it again when the situation call for it.

Now if I were one of the elect that didn't have to do them previously, I would feel different.

I like to do PHI's because I like to KNOW while I'm in the house if my client was accepted, because if not, I want to write a diff carrier right then and there. There is NEVER a guarantee you will EVER see that person once you leave, no matter how nice they were to you the first time you were there.

1st place: Aetna= NO height/weight, NO MIB, NO RX check...easy to deal with app...easy PHI They do weekend PHI's. Good smoker rates.

Cons: Low commissions, no commish under 60, no lead credits

2nd place: Trinity= easy to deal with app and home office...fast PHI... 5% lead credit after 5k of business per month. Great N/S Rates. Good smoker rates. GREAT INCENTIVE TRIPS. Alvin is DA MAN!

Cons= Low Commissions, No weekend PHI's, not doing business in all states

After those two there is a LARGE GAP to the next tier for me...

Third place: Foresters= (I don't really have a problem with them, they are in the middle of the pack. Not the shortest, but not the longest PHI) they do weekend PHI's...tele-sales available. Good commissions.

Cons: Fraternal and agents know how to scare clients and replace them. Middle of the pack pricing.

Forth place: TRANS AM= LONG APP. No PHI

Pros: I've actually gotten 21 cases paid in a row with them and no calls to my clients and none of my preferred cases have been downgraded, so I've been liking them lately. Seem to take more beat up people as preferred than most.

Fifth place: SNL= I only write graded plans with them typically or when I'm out of town on road trips. They seem to knock too many preferred cases to graded for my liking and I don't like going back to deliver the bad news. NO PHI. Low commissions. RX guide needs to be easier to navigate! Not in all states.

Pros: can write all ages, lenient for graded plans with solid pricing on pref N/S and smokers, 10% lead credit after ONLY 1k OF BUSINESS.

Sixth place: Oxford= LONG APP (Sometimes ASK QUESTIONS THAT ARE NOT ON APP while probing for answers). LONG PHI.

Pros: GREAT rates and their rep JIM CODNEY is a heck of a fella!

I vote this as one of the best posts of the year:yes:

The "elite" agents could skip the phone interview. Or we could do one and get an answer on the spot. I was about 50-50 on doing them. I wrote an Americo today on a lady that would have gone to RNA if they still had the elite program.

But this voice sig thing is far different. This is one of the dumbest decisions I've seen made by a company that wants to stay in the FE business.

I've known about the voice sig thing coming for months but I thought it was to be an option. That's what other companies have done with voice signatures. Americo has the Eagle product that voice sig. It's an option. Americo also has the iPad app. It's an option.

AmCon has the voice sig for med sups or you can do a paper app. I wrote 2 AmCon med sups last Sat. I sent in paper applications.

The changes RNA made to the application are great. The changes in the Rx list are great. I was looking forward to those changes as I had known about them for some time too.

I had no idea that they were going to completely overall the application process. They went from the easiest company to write for to the hardest with one rule change.

Their rate increases last year had already made them a difficult sale but their ease of doing business was the buffer for that.

They may have to bump commissions up to 150% to get agents to use them now? That still wouldn't make me use the voice sig.
