Securus Vs EFES in Building a Team: Any Information on Greg Harvey?

Never had that problem, TPAA -- my leads are on average 3-4 weeks old from the time they mail them.

Consider yourself lucky.. I've heard nothing but great things about EFES.. At least you get the actual BRM and has your identifying marks on it...

Everything I heard and seen about Securus screams shady.. If I'm buying leads.. I want them exclusive... Sell the leads after 30 days? Eh.. thats kinda weak.. I been in this business a long time and many times you'll run into clients that want to start their policies a month later etc.. especially if you catch them early in the month around the 10th when they've exhausted their SS benefits that they recieved on the 3rd..... I've had some real good inside info about Securus, where they came from, what they're about and I wouldnt work for them if they gave me leads for $20...

I can respect your position, TPAA. Heck, you've seen shadiness 1st person with Securus.

Truth is their decision to run a "NAA" like program -- along with hiring a top gun from NAA -- doesn't lead well to its credibility. At least to more seasoned agents. But who's to say they are trying to recruit you or I as primary agent prospects?

Understandably, nobody likes the leads they've paid for resold. However -- and both EFES and Securus does this -- leads are resold that don't have a policy attached to it -- after a period of time, I would presume, to recoup the cost of creating and mailing leads.

You'd probably agree with me it's the garbage agents that don't sell high-quality, competitively-priced policies that have the most fear of getting replaced. Going above and beyond a one-call sale helps solidify the deal and makes you harder to replace. Which you should be doing anyway.

I've had 350+ leads over the past 3.5 months through Securus. I've had my fair share of morons like I would with any other type of BRM lead piece. But my closing ratio remains the same, and there's a similar percentage of people as with EFES who are actually interested in life insurance. And out of none of those 350 leads, have I felt like I was getting a BS old lead -- and that's with an agent who worked my area (albeit briefly) before I took over.

Also, several of EFES's Top 5 agents and managers left EFES for Securus. That must means something, right? Were you informed of that inside information?

Anyway, I don't mean this to become a Defend Securus thread -- they rightfully get their heat as deserved in specific cases, but they're not as bad as some naysayers describe.

Yes, EFES doesn't give releases either, but at least they don't claim they will, then not do it.

If it's one thing I can't abide, it's an upline, agency, or even insurance company flat out lying. There's not one good excuse for that!

In defense of Securus:

- I buy the "Platinum" leads for $21.95 per lead; they are fresh and new. I've never had one recycled on me.
- Securus DOES resell your leads after 30 or 45 days as "B" or "C" leads. Equita does something similar, but it's not nearly as quick as a turnover.
- Securus unfortunately has a "free" lead program that gives new agents almost free or free leads that tend to be months if not years old.
- EFES will *NOT* release you either -- I am stuck with a 6 month release on all my carriers through them. Even after finishing up the remaining lead flow.

I helped a good friend of mine who joined Securus run some leads one day. I can tell you as sure as sh*t as I'm typing this, we had 6 lead cards.. 1 home had a for sale on it and vacant, and another was completely vacant- These were leads he paid for and "supposedly" mailed out a few weeks prior.

No identifying marks on the leads from Securus- they are copies you get of their OPT system-

Securus is in the "Lead business"- Trust me when I tell you this

I don't believe that story.

I have only had a few leads from Securus that were "trash" i.e. age too old. I informed my mgr. and he had them replaced promptly. If he bought old leads, which many agents do, I could see that happening, and am not sure if they would replace them, but I would ask.

I don't believe that story.

Why would you not? Anybody can have a bad run on leads. I have known agents that would return every one they could using phony addresses and contact info. They would laugh about sticking it to those "stupid lead dogs" that were running around chasing leads like a hound chasing a coon. .
