Selling for Multiple IMO/FMO'S

Haha, Although I would travel for training, it didn't cross my mind that others might come down to ride with you. I know Boman was nice enough to come to my area, so I let him stay in my house, suck it Galt, bought most of his meals, and drove him around. I learned a lot that week.

Did he sell anything or did yall just stay drunk all week. Lol.

There's a lot to learn on here. While I like to joke around, I've learned a lot on here since I've joined this Forum.

Like I said, I believe in loyalty...but it works both ways. Like respect, it has to be earned.

Even though I get into it now and then with that Union/Canadian Chevy Driving/Kentuckian, I respect him for his knowledge and what he does in FE. I agree with you about him being the glue.:)

That Union/Kentuckian is well respected by me for sure. Probably more so than many others on this forum. And I totally agree with you about loyalty. I think the IMO's want all of your contracts for obvious reasons. But having them spread among several IMO's is very appealing for the reasons you stated in this and other posts.

----------

Loyalty means a lot to me. Loyalty's a two way street. With that being said, I've spent half of my 34 years in the insurance business with a captive company, and saw first hand how they repaid loyalty to long time agents and Branch Managers. Loyalty meant nothing to them.

I've seen what loyalty got JG and Gooner in their public break ups. They both defended and promoted their former IMO right to the end. JG even had a link to his former IMO in his signature for a long time. With both of them that the appreciation was gone in the blink of an eye. Even though they got released, they still had to go through the hassle of the extra paperwork of moving from one to another.

1. If they give you a little training, should you be beholding to them forever?
As far as treating you better...shouldn't they treat you good anyway?

2. I can see being offered more to put all your business with them, but I'll bet that in most cases you can get a bump by just asking.

I have good relationships with several IMO's, but in the end, my loyalty is to me and my family first. To each his own, but I want to be as independent as I can...and I am.

----------

They seem like a good one to use. I wouldn't be afraid to use them. A former mod on this Forum went to work for them doing webinars. They have about the best website of any IMO. I don't have anything with them...no particular reason. I guess the timing was never right. I did have Lincoln Heritage Med Supps with them years ago.

Don't sell yourself short...you have some knowledge and some good ideas that you've posted.

I think I know this Kentuckian that several of you speak about. I like him, he's a great guy!!

But it couldn't be more wrong to say he holds FEX together. FEX is doing just fine and would hum along just fine without him.

FEX is Travis and Scott. I don't know how many people they have on staff now but there's a few. Still not a huge organization at the top and I think they intend to keep it that way.

Travis Tubbs is the best FE agent I've ever known. Not in sheer numbers of production simply because he choses to be in the field about 100 days a year. If he wanted to get the leads that Tim W gets and work like Tim, he would exceed Tim's production. If you doubt that then just ask Tim. He will say the same thing.

But more importantly, especially if one is going to be an IMO, Travis' system is teachable and portable. One can learn to be a profitable FE agent from Travis.

He is a great teacher while still maintaining production.

Scott is the nuts and bolts of the FEX system. Is he a company man? Yes, but it is a company. Someone has to fill that role. Someone has to deal with the companies and keep all the behind the scenes things working so that Travis can do what he does. Scott is that guy. Scott also runs the website and keeps things there updated. Regardless of how it looks to some they are a team. And they lean heavily on each other.

In my opinion they are the best FE IMO going. One might get as good elsewhere? Doubtful. They certainly won't get better. But if someone finds that's not the case with them then they will release with no questions asked.

Now if I'm talking about the wrong Kentuckian then just disregard.:goofy:

As for the topic, I'm a firm believer in having all your contracts with one FMO. Mainly for the loyalty. I am a very loyal person. I give it and expect it in return.

I had all my contracts with EFES except for a couple I couldn't get through them. I believe I have everything at FEX now. Maybe I have a term contract or two elsewhere?

I wouldn't do that if they didn't release though. That's a whole different situation. But if they were the kind of IMO that didn't release I wouldn't be there anyway.

I think your situation's just a tiny bit different than most. You have a longstanding relationship with Travis and Scott. You've said yourself, that if Travis wasn't involved with Fex that you'd still be at EFES.

Like I said, to each his own. Scott has admitted that Fex is semi-captive because he expects all, or at least most of your contracts. If you're happy in that arrangement then I'm happy for you. :)

P.S. I'm glad you like yourself and think you're a great guy. LOL
