Senate Democrats Give White House 72 Hours

FYI: President Obama will make a special announcement regarding the
Affordable Care Act (aka ObamaCare) at 11:35am E.T. this morning.

Maybe he's going to cancel it.:skeptical:

Nah..it will be something that makes health insurers (especially the colored ones), VERY angry!

"Obama will deliver remarks regarding the Affordable Care Act at 11:35 a.m., the White House announced. A senior Democratic source told NBC News that Obama would announce that those people with insurance policies that are being canceled because they do not meet Obamacare's standards will be allowed to renew them, but that insurance companies will be required to tell people re-enrolling about alternative options and the benefits they will lose."

Allowed to renew for 1 year or indefinitely?

down to 4 employees...what the hell do they do with our license renewal fees?

Fee's will keep the lights on, but the real revenue for the DOI is their ability to tax policies. Most of that money goes into the general fund and wasted on pet projects.

AC, as you know, this is just more posturing. He has to make it sound like carriers are the bad guys, so he will grant the voters 1 wish.

You can keep your plan, for up to a year, as long as you sign a statement indicating you are buying an inferior product.

So many issues with this, where to begin? Another executive order. Can someone uninsured by a 2013 plan now? What is "already cancelled" Will we still have to choose "option A" at Humana, "repurchase" at Aetna, "rewrite" at other companies?

----------------------

The president's proposal would apply only to people who have had their existing policies already canceled those currently without insurance would not be able to buy these old plans, said the lawmaker, who declined to be identified discussing the proposal before the president's announcement.
State insurance commissioners would have the right to override the administrative proposal.
Mr. Obama is scheduled to make remarks on his changes to the law at 11:30 a.m.
Earlier in the day, Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the Democratic leader, hinted that a change to the Affordable Care Act was likely before the end of the week.
"Stay tuned. It could be an administrative fix, it could be a legislative fix," said Ms. Pelosi, speaking at the Washington Ideas Forum. "I would rather it be done administratively, because then it could be done much more quickly without any accompanying agendas."

His administrative fixes have worked so well so far...:nah:

So much wasted time and money!:mad:

the initiative offered by the president today has no teeth. health insurers will not go through the trouble of reinstating policies or keeping policies going that were scheduled to be cancelled at the end of this year. only Congress can mandate that the insurance companies reinstate or stop canceling policies.

do the members of this forum think that Congress should take action or should not take action and and let things stay as the president announced?
