Senior Life Insurance Company Reviews

yes
Above where you compared SL's super preferred to several carriers. This is not a fair comparison. Most people will qualify for Transamerca at that rate. You used a rate that is only for a select few.

Ok it's just a comparison and the assumption is a super preferred rate with the Female applicant having one medication for diabetes, high blood pressure, and cholesterol. there will always be an exception. There are many other factors to consider on where we place our business. The bottom line in MY OPINION ( only an opinion ) I am able to help more seniors get coverage placing my business with SLI. I am not saying we will always be the least expensive but overall a great company to consider.
The point of the post is SLI insurance is competitive in the marketplace which has not been reflected in this thread.

I have never came across a SL policy issued at super preferred rates. Has anyone else?

That would make sense .. it's my understanding that the super preferred product has only been on the market with competitive contracts since Feb of 2018 so my guess is most agents did not write that product because of a low commission.

No, it's been on the market for longer than that. They may have changed the name, but it's still the same product that most seniors can't qualify for.

So, in your example, you should compared SLs Preferred product with the rest. That's when you see a difference. That's where you could be getting them a better deal.

Don't even try to tell us that you write mostly Super Preferred because we know better...unless you are clean-sheeting.

This is where we are coming from and this is how we know exactly how it is! Don't mistake the fact that we don't market SL to be that we don't know anything about them. They're out there for all of us to see.

SL is quite fine for the agent that only wants to use one company since it is much simpler. Fits with the lazy non-caring agent just fine!

There never has been one company that fits all. There never has been and there never will be.

To label an agent as non-caring and lazy because they choose to write with one company certainly does not represent the 100's of agents with SLI. I have contracts and the production with many of the companies in the FE niche. There are many reasons an agent would choose SLI , none of which include non-caring and lazy.

That would represent at least 35% to 40% of my business of seniors with high blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes. Most of them have some type of metabolic ailment

btw notice I can converse with you without calling you lazy, noncaring or whatever snarky insinuations you make in your post. A guy like you has a lot to offer but it certainly isn't showing in this thread.

You're right, I shouldn't label you like that. I really wasn't aiming directly at you, but still, you were right in front of it. So, sorry.

It's just that we've heard the kool-aide of Lincoln Heritage and Senior Life for a long time. Most of drivel that is used for justification of using them as a sole company doesn't cut the mustard.

I do hope that you will come to see what most of us here see (and know). Many of us on this board have been around the industry for the long time, so we've seen it, done it, or replaced it.

I've known some great hardworking and client focused agents that wouldn't function well in an indie environment representing multiple companies and agents. Sometime back I looked at SL and determined it wasn't for me. I spent enough years being tied to one company to know I'm not wired that way. But I've actually recommended some of the aforementioned agents check out SL. Among those types of companies (LH or Bankers being a couple others of that type), they seem to have the best systems in place to help their agents succeed.

Would someone post the Super Preferred app so we can judge for ourselves how the underwriting goes? I am assuming they underwrite Yea or nay off of the app. And Script check.

Thank you! I appreciate

I choose to get into the FE niche to help as many families as possible and my background is well suited for an FE business. I did the IMO model with success for my own personal production. Since joining SLI I am able to accomplish that goal and now I'm in multiple states with dozens of agents and covering 100's of families every month. At the end of the day, that's why we're all here. Just because a company like SLI is easy and frictionless it certainly does not mean our agents are lazy or non-caring. I would have to say lazy and uncaring agents won't succeed in this industry.

Just like any other business, there are values and propositions to consider and what works for you may not work for me. but we are both achieving the same outcome for our clients getting them coverage where there was no coverage or putting them in a better position.
As far as "drinking the cool aid" I have been on both sides of the street and the cool-aid taste the same!

A while back there was comments on the forum stating why would you just write a price buster for those where there is competition and write a higher priced product on everyone else. To be fair you should write the lowest cost no matter what the commission is. I started writing most of my healthy leads with SofN and I take a big cut in commission, but it is what is best for person.
