Senior Life Insurance Company Reviews

A while back there was comments on the forum stating why would you just write a price buster for those where there is competition and write a higher priced product on everyone else. To be fair you should write the lowest cost no matter what the commission is. I started writing most of my healthy leads with SofN and I take a big cut in commission, but it is what is best for person.

I agree the super preferred rate is always competitive for those who qualify with high blood, diabetes, and cholesterol. I am speculating why you don't see many SLI super preferred policies. I was not with SLI when this product had a low payout.

No, it's been on the market for longer than that. They may have changed the name, but it's still the same product that most seniors can't qualify for.

So, in your example, you should compared SLs Preferred product with the rest. That's when you see a difference. That's where you could be getting them a better deal.

Don't even try to tell us that you write mostly Super Preferred because we know better...unless you are clean-sheeting.

This is where we are coming from and this is how we know exactly how it is! Don't mistake the fact that we don't market SL to be that we don't know anything about them. They're out there for all of us to see.

SL is quite fine for the agent that only wants to use one company since it is much simpler. Fits with the lazy non-caring agent just fine!

There never has been one company that fits all. There never has been and there never will be.
Then I suppose you think the agent that worked for the big mutual captives were lazy and uncaring since they worked their entire career for one company?

Thats total bs. I bet not more than 5% of people qualify for super preferred. 80% of people that take High blood pressure medicine take more than 1. You say diabetes . I assure you thats for non insulin. Just like Lincoln Heritage you write super preferred and 90% come back as preferred or standard.

I've never run into super preferred and I've never personally seen a Senior Life policy I couldn't put someone in a better situation. Not once. Just my experience.

Hey friend, you don't know what you don't know.

About 1 out of 3 or 4 people I write qualify for super-preferred. And, insulin dependent prospects can also qualify for super-preferred, even if they were taking insulin as a minor, as long as other factors are ok (ht/wt, non-tobacco, one med per condition, etc.).

If they take more than one med per condition then they would step down to preferred, as long as other factors are ok.

If we could all only post accurate info rather than what we think, this forum would be a much better place. Wouldn't you agree?

My point is this: If an agent works for one company and doesn't really know anything about the underwriting and prices of other companies.....well, what can you say? That's just their own ignorance.

However, in today's society with access to the internet, agents will eventually find out about other companies, underwriting, etc. Now, if that agent is with one company and knows that there are better companies to write for the client in most of the situations, then yes.....lazy and uncaring! Lazy because they don't want to shop around and learn other companies, and uncaring for the same reason.

It's just like Ramiz and his group. They choose to write with one company only. They don't choose to do that because it's best for the client, they choose to do that because it's easier for them. Now tell me how much they care about their clients!

Somehow I do not see agents like Ben Feldman, Medhi F, Peter Rosengard, etc. fitting your description of people who work with one company.. There have been 100s of MDRT Producers that have been single company producers and I would say they certainly knew what other products were available, probably more so than many of the other companies own agents. As far as something better, there is almost always something better.

There are always exceptions to the rules, but as far as the 3 you listed, they are from a time long gone. A time where "Independent Agent" was rarely heard of.

And yes, there have been many. I think you and I are thinking of two different things when I say "lazy". I don't mean they aren't go-getters. I mean that they are just too lazy to learn other companies that would be better for their clients.

I think this conversation has gone on long enough. I really don't care if I'm right or wrong, but it is still my opinion and I think it has merit.
