Setting DM Appts by Phone

Hmmmm.........I only recruit in Va. and NC, not nationwide. I like for my agents to come get some one-on-one training. If you'll notice in my signature line I train both field sales and tele-sales. Neither way is really superior than the other, it all depends on what the agent prefers. I've had agents fail with field sales and also fail with tele-sales. I've also had agents flourish with field sales and flourish with tele-sales. About 1/2 of my 32 agents do face 2 face and about 1/2 do tele-sales.

I think that I've offered some helpful nuggets up here concerning selling FE. At least the phone calls I receive and occasional agent posts verify that.

But Gordon, just because you failed at tele-sales with Sr Life and also failed at field sales with Lincoln Heritage gives you as much credibility being a FE expert as Ms. Jones telling you "her bank messed her up".:D

I can't recall you EVER giving any helpful info on selling, working leads, etc. All you ever do is belly ache about one of the places you've failed at.

Whenever JD criticizes you like to jump on the band wagon, along with a couple of others. I've stood the test of time and will continue to stand the test of time.

Newby, with posts like this from JDEasy and Gordon, do you really think it would be beneficial to do that tele-sales webinar you were thinking about?

Never worked for SL, only Lincoln for 4months. I have never worked FE telesales full time. I only sold two FE policies over the phone and several Med Sups.

Maybe if you enlighten us more about FE telesales and how it is the wave of the future, I am sure we all could benefit.

I figured he would find a way to weasel out of doing that interview with Newby. Now, it's our fault.:D

Even for the ones who won't set the appointment you can tell them you still have to get the card signed. Just inform them you are accountable for each information request. Gives you another shot at a presentation

I train both field sales and tele-sales ONLY in NC and Va. But with your vengeful attitude I would never allow you, or anyone like you, on my team. You are just a cancer cell waiting to multiply. (Hope you don't catch it, don't wish that on anyone).

So you've sold a whopping 2 FE plans over the phone. So now you are an authority on FE tele-sales? :D Who with? Some carrier who is fumbling around in the dark with FE tele-sales? Selling only 2 FE plans using tele-sales....why you also are fumbling around in the dark. No wonder you would think FE tele-sales doesn't work. Or maybe you already failed with tele-sales.....like other agents that have failed with tele-sales and also failedwith field sales.

A lot more agents fail with field sales, so why don't you criticize field sales? It's because you want to look like a tough guy, an experienced FE pro. But you appear as someone who gets very little respect in their real life so you try to overcompensate here with your forum life.

You'll earn more respect here if you can offer helpful advice to being successful in the FE arena. But because you never really offer anything worthwhile or helpful, only negativity, you also appear as someone who has had very little success in the FE arena.

If FE tele-sales didn't work for my personal production I'd be out in the field wasting gas and time like you do (when you're not up here on the forum). If tele-sales did not work for my agents I wouldn't even teach tele-sales, I'd go ride with them in the field and train them using field sales, not tele-sales. The more $$$ my agents make, the more $$$ I make. Makes sense doesn't it? (That's called a tie-down...a little something to help your sales).

I'm not going to go back and forth debating a rookie like you. You can get the last word in if you want. Most people can read all your posts and read all my posts and form their own opinions. I need to go get me some "no's" so I can get to the "yesses". Hope you write $5000 this week Gordon!

I work all types of insurance and mostly Life. I don't consider myself a FE agent. The things I have against agents like you are the obvious. You lie, cheat, and manipulate yourself into oblivion and have now excepted your lies as truths.

Take it for what its worth, but JD is right about you...anybody that works for SL is drinking the Koolaid.

I have clients, you have "customers" that you cheat your way into a sale by telling them several things that just are not true.

Well I wanted to share something definitely not to do.

I read this somewhere on the forum, could be this thread, I don't remember.

Well I had a few no shows and somebody recommended giving your name/# and say something about how high gas prices are and to call if something comes up.

Bad idea. You give them an out, they will take it. I had two scheduled appts, my only two, call and cancel.

One called as I was driving there. I made the newbie mistake of answering the phone. That lady had AARP too. Oh well.

But i went and DK'd a TM lead I couldn't get a hold of and sold two policies for $1420 AP. They would have been gone if the other appt hadnt canceled. Gotta love this business. :)
