Setting Up a Home Office

It is a very sad story. It started with to much cactus juice and his grass skirt.........

Please.... please, don't say anymore. TMI! I didn't go there when someone mentioned banging rocks together.... now I understand.

I use Google Voice as my number. I don't have a current need for a toll free number, as I only market in my home state.

For a phone I use a blackberry.

I've been using E-Fax, the free version. Which I'm going to replace with RingCentral this month.

I'm using Google Voice and it is working great for me. I have a couple invites left if anyone needs one. A few others have talked about the benefits of it. One great thing is that you can use your cell phone to not only receive calls from you Google Voice number, but also make calls. As well as having logs of everyone who has called. I forgot you could press 4 to record, an awesome feature!

For my IT consulting business I was using Magic Jack for a while so I could have a local number. I simply had it forward to my cellphone. The problems with this service was that it didn't always work. I had repeated complaints from clients saying that they called and all they heard was silence, no ring or anything. I would test the line and sure enough it would happen on occasion. I need something that works 100% of the time.

Go with Google Voice.

seems like everyone and their brother are using ringcentral .... everywhere I call, i hear the ringcentral voice and transfer tones ... must be good ... but expensive .. yikes ... i wish google voice would get an Austin TX area code ....

Oh yeah, you may need to send a pigeon with a note to Frank ... that way he will know to look for the smoke signals ...
