Bush gave us a bigger mess than we anticipated. Had we not done what we did when we did, unemployment would have been at least 15%. Yes, we did spend $160,000 per job saved or created, but so what? Our plan is working.

Old news from last year. I'm sure we spent much more by now for each job.

UPDATE: Child-Only Policies

CIGNA continues to give thoughtful consideration to the business opportunities and impacts associated with provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). Our evaluation along with a recent review of current market practices has led us to the decision to suspend the sale of child-only (under the age of 19) policies. The last assigned effective dates for these policies will be September 15, 2010.

This decision has no impact on any existing child-only policies.

We will provide additional details regarding this decision and changes to our process and policies as they
become available.

So the false hope of splintering the GI child to a "child only" policy and keeping the other family members vanishes.

You will lose the family, under such circumstances, because they don't want to hear your happy horse shiot about splitting the child to another carrier, with an offer in hand.

Just had a case declined with Cigna because it was all or none and the baby was declined. Took the whole family to another carrier and was approved within a few days.

Under the new rules I would have gotten "0" because the whole family would have been approved by Cigna with one GI baby. Beautiful.

I think the key word here is SUSPEND. I bet sometime in October they will be selling the gi child only direct, which is fine with me.
