Startup Costs For Telesales

Actually not it's 18 months old from a trip to Costa Rica...however - you should only look as good at 63...but since we're slinging sh$t:

Now - You don't want to be embarrassed and compare the wives - do you?

I would back off this stuff, Barry. You'll lose a lot of credibility with personal attacks.

I'm an internet guy too and believe it's the future but that doesn't mean every other way sucks.

Wino works all referrals, some of the other guys work all f2f leads (many of which are sourced online) and crush it.

At the end of the day, we're all insurance agents. Prospecting is the hardest part and some methods are more efficient than others but most of them still work and can be very lucrative.

We're all on the same team here.

Agreed...deleted most of the posts...
You can take the guy out of Brooklyn but can't take the Brooklyn out of the guy...

I lived in Brooklyn for 12 years...I get it.

I'm actually posting this from the city.

But most posters here are pretty cool (except for a few trolls) and offer valuable insight.

I'll speak for most when I say thank you for the retraction.

This is one of the best videos I've seen in a very long time! Thanks for the upload.

Not to beat a dead horse...but if you follow Belfort's lead on identifying the Buyers vs. the Kickers..it's seems to me that you can be so much more efficient with dropping them out of your pipeline within just 2 minutes on the phone...or funneling them out before they even make it there...

...versus going f2f sweet talking your way into their kitchen then chit chatting for 15 minutes (to be polite) then finding out after another 15 minutes that they are never going to buy...that they are just tire kickers...

So bottom line it all comes down to cost per deal and how much time you can spend...because you can spend as much money as you like - but you only have so much time...

If you're running @ $35/lead (DM/TeleMarket) and get 12 leads ($420 cost) and you present to them all and close 17%...that's 2/12 leads closed. That's a deal cost of $35x12=$420 cost. $800APx110%x.75=$660x2=$1,320 cash flow. $1,320-$420=$900/day profit on those leads before expenses - not bad. BUT those 12 sits used up your entire day between driving, presenting, stopping, etc...that's a solid 9 hours. And you did have expenses...

Now compare that scenario to calling 40 leads for the day, speaking to 20, weeding out the tire kickers within 2 minutes leaving you with just 10-12 hot/warm interested parties and closing that same 17%=2 deals closed for the day...Those 40 leads cost on average $10/each. So 40x$10=$400 cost. Sell 2 deals $800APx110%x.75=$660x2=$1,320 cash flow. $1,320-$400=$900/day profit FROM YOUR HOME. This can be accomplished in only 4 hours. 8 tire kickersx2 minutes=16min - call it half an hour. Then 12 presentations...you'll have 10 give you the "I have to think about it" for 10 mins each - so call that 2 hours, then 2 full sales with a phone app interview call it 1 1/2 hours for both. That's 30 mins + 120 mins + 90 mins = 4 hours. So - you made the same $$ in less than half the time and all from the comfort of your own home....

Now - if you want to work like an animal and do more business - all you have to do is get another 40 leads and work another 4 hours (that's 8 hours total versus the 9 hours spent f2f) and you would double your production. So, we're talking $1800/day from home NET. NO expenses.....

This is a numbers game. You are limited by your time. The only people that want people to door knock are uplines that don't have call centers. If you can make at least as much but more likely to make double in the same time from telesales versus f2f - why not do that?

I get it - some people just love to get out and chit chat and to you - more power to you!

It's even quicker at the door.
I agree with all of your concepts.
It also sounds like you agree that return on time is a more important metric in this market than return on investment, correct me if I'm wrong.
I'll look at your numbers and specifics later.
I sense some good debates in our future, Brooklyn.

Absolutely agree.

It's been said that Anthony Martin made a million $$ in gross commission in one year 100% over the phone. I have to believe him. I personally 100% know that you can make over a million $$ commission selling by phone (not necessarily FE)...

BUT - regardless of anything else - does anyone here believe that they could ever make over a million $$ by selling f2f? I'd have to break down the numbers - but, with the example I proposed (and please correct me if I'm off) you would call 2 deals for $1,320 gross pretty good for the day? That took the full 9 hours...so $1,320 day x 20 days x 12 months = $316,800 gross. That's working 5 days a week every week...How would you ever get to the million $$??

If you come to our meeting in San Diego this year, you'll meet Anthony.

You break down the f2f agents' hours but Anthony works 14 hour days 6 days a week so while his production is off the charts, his work ethic is unparalleled.
