The Door Knock Life

What would prevent a company from doing a 700 mailer on a 1000 order and just putting your name on the list ? The only way to 100% know is get copy if the form mail houses get for mailings from the post office.

I guess I'm not as suspicious as you lol

Did you get that form from Mainstreet Powermail when you mailed that 3000 pieces that returned only 8 leads?

You mean your on the mailing list and get the actual mailer .

Yes.

Will they mail the hard copy's to you?

Yes, and they charge $10 extra per order for that service.

I'm using were they mail back in provided envelope. Supposedly due to being more private return rates higher .

I also use a return envelope mailer: The prospect can use the envelop, and even iff they forget and just put the card in the mail the card will return to the mail house.

Being a door knocker I love the colored cards at the door . I'd love to see a combo card of yellow and pink .

Over the years I have used yellow, pink, green, and blue. I have not noticed any color being in any way "better" than any other. I a different color with each mailing so when the cards come back in I know by the color how long ago it went out and what area it is coming back from so it goes into the right pile for routing.

Knocking with thew colored card 100% eliminates, for me at least, the "I don't remember" objection. As soon as they see that card their eyes usually light up and they smile and they say "oh, yes, I sent that back."

Then they say, "I thought you were going to mail me something" lol

I say "We already did - we mailed you this card!"

I checked my mail dashboard this morning and the seed card is still not among the pieces to be delivered. It will be two weeks this coming Tuesday. In the past, it was not unusual for me to start getting back the first couple of cards or so at the two week mark. [I just checked and the last FE mail order I sent out, I got the first 4 leads back 17 days after the mail went out. To match that pace, I'd have to have leads coming in by this coming Friday.

Will Lead concepts mail a seed card ? That's a good idea so you gauge when there actually hit the mail boxes .Wonder if lead connection or need a lead will ? Need a lead $460/1000 on 2000 or more mailer $480/1000 . They mail back hard copies daily . Most vendors 1 time a week . Lead connections emails the copy first and it's all grainy . Honestly I've seen no difference in getting in houses wether I have hard copy or not . But I have to insert " a little yellow card" on emailed copy . Easier for me to keep up with the hard copy. Like many people took off yesterday . I hit the doors from 9:30 -3 . I'm hitting the doors right now for 4 hrs . My contact rate over 6 weeks is 85-90% on door knocking .I'm equally as good on the phone but few answer and it's to easy for them to cancel .I enjoy door knocking .

I enjoy door knocking .

Me too!

Will Lead concepts mail a seed card ?

I am sure they will. My problem with lead concepts is that 1) they charge too much for the data list and 2) they do not load the whole list into the CRM - you have have access to those who responded.

Maybe I will try an FE mailing with Kramer Direct to see how long it takes to get a seed card from them.

I am a little put off that this mailing is almost two weeks from when I was told it printed and shipped and I have yet to see evidence of it in my mailbox. In the past I received the seed card within 4-5 days of the mailing.

Need a lead $460/1000 on 2000 or more mailer $480/1000 .

I never used need a lead but if they mail the hard copies daily that is a big plus. I'll reach out to them on Monday as well. I was going to drop 1000 a week, but I did not submit another order this week as I wanted to see that seed card arrive first.

I did a 2000 mailer that went out on the 24th . They have a nice crm . I'll keep you posted how it goes . I used them for a 100 fixed cost lead in 2016 . They were good in all aspects outside the age range of 50-85. I don't like 80-85 but the owner wouldn't back off of it for fixed cost .I'm not paying $510/$520 /1000 with lead concepts when need a lead $460 to $480. I have 3000 in the street total right now and 2000 more going out next week .

Are you mailing FE or Medicare Savings, or a mix of both?

I have found 5000 pieces is the base for sustained lead flow. Get 5000 out and then mail 1000 per week or 2000 every other.

So your mailing with Need a Lead went out a day after mine with MS Powermail. yes, please do keep us posted here. Sharing what does and does not work with respect to lead flow is one of the reasons I started this thread.

I hope @rousemark continues to update us as well.

Anyone here reading this thread who does DM would share with the forum, I would hope.

I'm also using aged mortgage protection direct mail and working a slightly different prospecting approach than usual. I am not using those to sell traditional mortgage protection term policies. I am prospecting for folks who will benefit from a well structured participating whole life policy.

Like I said before, I am an FE guy: but I am working with grandma and grandpa as well as their kids and grandkids ... trying to fix them up so they don't need $60/month $8,000 burial policies when they are seniors.

The mailers out are Medicare mostly but some fe.But I'm about to put the Medicare down in a few months till aep as the upfront money is down to $180 and drops monthly now so not worth my time to concentrate on that right now . If the mailings done right you should start getting your first mail at 2 1/2 to 3 weeks at the latest.

I sent a mailing out last Tuesday with Mainstreet Powermail. I always get a seed card. My rep confirms the mail went out that day. I have not yet received the seed card. I have USPS informed delivery and it is not showig up for delivery today either. This is my first mailing since before Covid and thus my first mailing of the Louis Dejoy era at the USPS. This guy has no idea how much small business depends upon the smooth functioning of the USPS.

They need to remove the stupid "must fund next 50 years of pension" requirement from the postal service. That is the only thing that was keeping the post office from being profitable.

There is not one other company or organization that is required to do this. Heck, the pols raid the Social Security trust fund on a daily basis, do they not?

Louis, when ordered from Lead Concepts, did you order a seed card? That will be the best way to find out if the mailers are actually getting delivered.
No.. Had never heard of doing it. When you guys were talking about a seed card, I thought you just meant sending a blank sample card. Did not know you were including yourself in the actual mailing.
