Well was trying to find the thread on what carrier's filed their plans to put this, but will start new. Learned today not only has UHC not filed for exchange plans in Florida but have not filed for plans off exchange. Of course they still have time to file for off exchange but would be nice without them here in Florida.

UHC is smarter than the average bear. They've got something up their sleeve, and they ain't sharing it with the competition. Those with the best lawyers win. Watch for creative products, and loopholes galore coming out in the next year

Indeed. UnitedHealth-GoldenRule started holding live national agent webinars to give us pros/cons of Exchanges and peeks at their future plans, months ago. Companies like Humana and BCBS-IL are playing catch-up. Their first meaningful webinars are at least 2 weeks away, according to the e-mails they sent out today.

They may have something up their sleeve's and I know they have time to file for off exchange plans but thought at this late date would have at least filed for off. Just wondered if they'll pull a California and pull their individual in Florida. Can't speak for the rest of Florida but they are not much of a player in the panhandle anyway.

BCBSIl and Humana are behind the curve up there, we've had one seminar, two webinars and another seminar next week. Not to mention Medicare meeting already with MGA's. Speaking of Medicare Walmart has supposedly kicked Humana out and may have a deal with the national BCBS association for under and over 65.

Dont bet on that. Uhc bought pacificare in CA and never actively sold in the state. Goldenrule has sold in FL for 20 yrs and has a large book of biz

Thats 8 of the 20 yrs, and GR was very coompetitive on the westt coast of FL before that as thats all i sold when i started on 03'

I know in Indiana that have not filed for on the exchange plans.
They did file for off the exchange plans under GR.

---UHC Letter to Agents dtd June 30, 2014---

We are pleased to share good news with you!
Important Information about Your Clients' UnitedHealthOneSM Health Insurance Coverage

Your clients in the states of AL, AR, FL, GA, IL, IN, MO, MS, NE, OH, PA, TN, TX, WI, and WV can keep their current UnitedHealthOneSM plan benefits without further Affordable Care Act (ACA) changes through September 30, 2017.

In March of this year, President Obama announced a second extension of the date when additional ACA requirements must be included in all health plans. This extension, known as "transitional relief," applies to non-grandfathered health plans. (Customers with grandfathered plans are able to keep their coverage without ACA changes indefinitely.)

Some states will experience a different time frame for transitional relief:
AZ, IA - September 30, 2016; and LA - December 30, 2016. We are currently working with additional states to implement transitional relief for more customers. We hope to have good news to share with you about those states, soon.

Clients who keep their current UnitedHealthOneSM coverage:
•Have more time to understand how the ACA health law might work for them and their families.
•Can keep using the doctors and hospitals they value most, as a part of our UnitedHealthcare Choice Plus network.
•Benefit from likely lower premiums when compared to the premiums of most ACA plans available.
•Satisfy the ACA's requirement to maintain "minimum essential coverage" (MEC) which means your clients avoid any tax penalty for not having compliant coverage.

We have already begun to notify your clients about this great news. Included with the letter we send your clients, is this required communication prepared by the Department of Health & Human Services. It suggests your clients contact us to keep their current plans, but that is not necessary. They can simply keep paying premiums as usual to maintain their plans. We will also be sending your clients a Rider-Amendment to their policy/certificate explaining the change in their policy year. It is what allows them to keep their current plans for the mentioned extended period of time for their state.

You will hear from us in advance of any required future ACA changes to your clients' plans. If keeping their current plans is not a fit for your clients, they can choose new plans with ACA required benefits during any Open Enrollment period.

We appreciate the opportunity to serve you and hope you will continue to entrust us with your clients health insurance needs. Thank you for your business.

GR was masterful at slipping "gotcha's" into their contracts. In addition to things they would not cover they also offered plans that, to the casual consumer, looked like a really good deal.

It will be interesting to see what kind of hocus pocus they come up with for 2015 if they decide to play.
