Using Lawn Signs

There is an agent in town that is promoting his "online agency", and the family happens to own multiple properties. He has recently put up yard signs in every house they rent and property they own

I made this up a couple of years back. Had 100 signs made up at signoutfitters.com

I put most of them up on telephone poles, at intersections where I saw other signage. Many of them did get taken down by some townships, but didn't run into any issues with fines.

I wanna say from 100 signs, I received 10-15 calls and wrote maybe 4-5 cases. The bottom line for me, it was just easier to buy leads..

You have to be careful where you place your signs. You can get a fine for placing them in the wrong places.

I have had some success using pole signs in the past when I was doing credit repair. I put up about 30 sign, and I received calls on them for about 6-8 months. I've tried the same approach with life insurance and a have also had some success. But not near as much as the first go around. I figured as long as I can turn a profit it's all good. I spent $150 on the signs and made about $3,300 to date with them. And I still have about 60 signs left in the box. I usually stick a few up in between appointments.

Why not just put your company yard signs in places like cemeteries and public parks. You will be certain to get some publicity.

I am curious what your signs look like

Although I never used this method, this worked for some agents I knew who used the signs:
You get a dedicated 800 line for incoming calls. The message should not only ask for the usual info, but also ask what city and state the caller is from. The message tells the caller that a local agent will be contacting them. If the township calls, tell them that you have nothing to do with placing the signs and all you get is the client information from the office. However, if the signs are disturbing, you'll see to it that they are taken down in the next day or 2, and ask the company not to put them up in that area.
It's been well over 10 years since I used signs, but they were an easy and inexpensive way to prospect.

So - lie to the authorities eh?
