Vimo Attacks From The Cell Flank!!

I read your other complaints regarding the return policy also. The service isn't for everyone and it seems like it's not suiting your needs.

Now that's a comment you simply can't disagree with. Whenever I sign up for a lead service, one of my first questions is what happens if the leads don't work for me? How fast can I turn it off? Is there a time commitment?

When a lead company makes you stay with them for an extended period of time, they don't have much incentive to give you quality leads. If you can pack up and bail on short notice, if the leads don't work, you're gone.

It's American capitalism at its best!

For me, lead companies have become far to much affiliate based. Lead quality usually goes downhill rapidly once affiliates come into the picture. At least, that's been my experience. For now, I personally have shut down my internet lead sources, to much money, not enough time to work them properly, leading to little real return.

Dan is spot on about a lead company's credit policy and their desire to please clients. To me their credit policy is key.

Some companies limit the percent of leads they will credit. Others will give credit for some disqualifying health conditions but they limit what they consider uninsurable.

I understand the complaints about affiliate lead generation. Affiliates can really be sleazy in the way they attract leads.

On the flip side, companies that use affiliates CAN have a more liberal credit policy. Essentially if the lead is bad you don't pay and the affiliate doesn't get paid either. If the affiliate has a high number of bum leads they are fired.

Affiliate generated leads are soft money leads while PPC is hard money.

I have had mixed results with Vimo and currently have them on hold. Can't really say when (or if) I will turn them back on but that is the nice thing about being independent.

Why the need to employ any affiliates? Why can't the companies simply use the same tactics affiliates use? What - InsureMe doesn't have the capability to to conduct an email campaign?

My message wasn't intended to be a personal attack on peeler by any means.

The fact of the matter is, when you work with a lead company, you are effectively outsourcing your advertising efforts to a third party. Why? Because it's less risky. You don't have to spend $5k, $10k or $50k to produce a radio, tv, or well-designed print campaign, then spend a high monthly fee to place and run the ad...and then pray that it works.

With lead providers you have the flexibility to buy leads on a pay for performance model, take on zero risk, and acquire leads on your time - within your budget.

When I say that it might not be for you, it's not an attack. We have customers that love the service and purchase 10, 20, up to 500 calls per day with no complaints. It fits their business needs, their sales approach, and they acquire calls at a price lower than they can achieve on their own. And to top it off they are able to meet or exceed their cost per acquisition goals. We have a productive business relationship.

We need to understand the fundamentals of marketing - not every lead converts and its a numbers game. Vimo's job is to put our clients in a position to be successful. If one broker has a broader mix of products, a more effective sales approach, and a high close rate, they will pay more for calls and order more of them.

If we advertise in the yellow pages and get a call that's an auto-decline, can we call to get a credit on our monthly subscription? I know I can't call Google if someone clicks on our site, calls and asks for auto insurance. You'd be amazed at the amount of calls we screen out of VimoLive.

Come to think of it, google is right down the road. Maybe I'll walk over and demand a credit to my account.

The few people I have spoken to at VIMO seem to be above-board, and for the most part, listen (although not always implement) my suggestions.

Not to digress, but...should that have been "listen (although not always implement) to my suggestions." "listen to my suggestions" flows together, but "implement to my suggestions" does not. I seem to have forgotten.

Oh..back to Scott and Vimo. I would love to see some additional filters added to the regular leads. Four is not enough. As I mentioned to Chris today, adding an additional 4-6 filters would only slow up the process by about 15 seconds and you would have more business from agents.

Just my opinion.
