Hi there.

I have worked alot on my website and just wanted someone to look through it and let me know what you think.

I used MS Publisher and I hope it looks great. I wanted to get some outside input before I do post card mail outs!!

From a SEO standpoint you have some problems.
Instead of scanning images you would be better adding the text to the site.

The videos will not help with any of the SEO either.

Add more content.

You have about 3 seconds to catch a visitor's attention. So:

Flash introductions are pretty much universally considered a bad idea. For someone visiting a second time, they are flat annoying -even with a "skip introduction". Look at Amazon, MSN, CNN, any insurance company. None have flash introductions.

In looking at your site, I don't see what you do or what is in it for me in that crucial 3 seconds. I think that is what you need to work on.

As a famous marketing coach says "Don't ever forget the WIFFY when you market. "What's In It For You"

"Accidental Insurance" Does that mean insurance that happens by an accident? I believe you may mean Accident Insurance!:skeptical:

The site will never rank high in the search engines. I mean never. You would be better off using a Word Press platform for your site. You can buy a good theme for a hundred bucks or so. Google "Insurance Word Press Themes.

I agree. One of the first problems other than the flash is that your home page's title is "Home", which basically means that is what the search engines will think your site is related to. Also, the home page has absolutely no content (words) and the other pages on your site have no content either. A website without content won't survive in today's age. Look at some of the websites that agents have in this forum that claim to have a lot of success.....that should be your starting point.

Hey agentshawn,

The flash intro you have is your websites worst enemy for two reasons one it really doesn't serve any true purpose and secondly most search engines cannot crawl flash. As a web designer, I personally would never build or recommend flash for these reasons.

Secondly, your homepage doesn't have any valuable information on it to entice the visitor to remain on your site and sift through your other content or contact your for a quote.

Keep in mind although the website cost you nothing to make...a poorly designed website can cost you money in the since that it's not generating any sales. Free is not always good.

You website is your online representative so be sure that it makes the same good impression that you would make in person.

Hope this helps.

Hey Shawn,

Remember that any website is better than no website! You're going to constantly be improving your site so don't worry about getting it perfect before going to 'market'. The goal is to get out and sell some insurance, not sit around and build the perfect website.

That said, people have given you some pretty good advice in this thread. You should make sure you're providing useful information for your prospects; don't waste their time trying to do something 'cool' or 'entertaining' (at least until you've got some killer content). And like it or not, you're going to need to learn the basics of search engines. With a little work, they could become the best source of free leads ever for you.

Go to our site, www.4sightcommunications.com, and download the free whitepapers "Three Keys to Search Optimization" and "10 Strategies for Generating Insurance Leads Online" from the right side of our home page. Those will give you a primer on how to position your website for lead generation. Yes, you need to fill out a form with your name but I promise you won't get spammed.

Good luck, and let us know if you've got more questions!

Aaron
