Anyone know where to get quote form templates? I'm just needing a basic form that I can put on my wordpress hosted site for auto/home quotes.

Thanks

I haven't found anything that is pre-built for the insurance industry, there are wordpress plugins to make your own forms, however, unless you know how to build your own forms, it's not easy.....at the end of the day you could hire an Indian off of a site like freelancer.com to copy a competitors forms you like and install those on your own website.

There are a lot of free and easy to use plugins for WordPress that create forms. I like cForms because it is flexible and very easy to use. Contact 7 is another super easy plugin for forms. If you get confused there are tons of video tutorials on you tube that explain it.

These forms email the information to you.

If you want to connect the submission to an auto responder you can use aWeber or most others. Just copy and past the code into your sidebar text. aWeber has a tutorial. I think they might have a plugin also.

Whichever you decide to go with for creating quote forms, make damn sure you can do 2 things:

1. create your own questions for the form.
2. have the ability to change those questions anytime you want.

stay away from canned quote forms or forms that are written in stone.

When it comes to quote forms, no one gets it right the first time. there's a lot of ongoing tweaking involved.

That is a good point. Flexibility is very important. Also keep in mind the more questions you ask the lower your response rate will be, so really think about what information is vital. In many cases, a name, phone number and email address will do because you can always follow up to get the rest of the info needed.

I have never had any luck with quote forms that short. it's better to have enough questions to generate a quote price when you contact them. as I like to say, a quote form should be like a mini-skirt.... short enough to be attractive but long enough to cover the main parts.

I ask the minimum number of questions to do a quote and no more than that. and also, always make things like VIN# and drivers lic. # optional, not required. otherwise you'll run people off.
