When a Lead is Wheelchair Bound

You guys are right about them identifying a bad segment of their business. If the broker business model is in fact losing them money, I would expect them to one day cancel it.

However, they have been doing this for quite sometime now, so I would bet it's profitable for them to some degree.

Time will tell though.

The question is, IF.

Also, don't forget AIG. They are sucking up a lot of the broker business that would otherwise be going to Gerber.

And we know AIG would never make a poor business decision.

Its still relatively new from when AmeriLife picked it up. Thats when the pumping started. I give it another 18 to 24 months tops.

It is fun to pick on AIG, however the insurance company was very well run. It was the other divisions that sank that ship. Now, I'm not saying that the GI product is profitable or not, but in general AIG runs a good ship.

Must not have been too bad s decision... They are still in business. Wonder how many made a killing buying the stock at $4.50 in 2008 now that it trading at $65? :)

I was just looking at that!

In what circumstances do you use them?

If we cant place them with AmAm, we go GI.

Our leads however are prequalified by marketers so alot of the GI stuff is only written on spouses.

We write very little GI compared to what we do with AmAm, and simply throw away the leads that dont qualify.
