Why don't IMO's promote referrals?

"Anyone tried the cable repair appointment strategy.. Tell them you will be there between 9-12 or 12-4? How does that work? "

LOL now that is funny

And when they say 9-12, they always get there at 11:55 and spend two hours fixing it.

That's how I do it. Schedule appointments 45 minutes apart and give them an hour window for arrival.

95% of the interested people will be there and work with your scheduling.
I heard you say this on your YT & ended up doing this while I was still in the field. It really works. & even if you show up outside the 1 hour window they usually are understanding because you already set the expectation that you're a busy guy.

Did you ever try leaving "delivery notices"?
I never heard of those before the last couple years. I didn't leave anything back then because the point of doorknocking was to show the lead card, and not get easily dismissed on the phone.

I haven't needed to buy fresh leads in quite some time. I do occasionally use aged leads if I'm a little slow, though. I doorknock those, and on the second attempt I'll leave my card and write "Sorry I missed you" on the front. Once in a while somebody calls me from that.

If I was doorknocking fresh leads now, I think I'd probably leave some kind of note starting on the second attempt. I don't think I'd use anything that looks like a package delivery notice, though. Maybe just my card like I described, or a cheerful handwritten sticky note or something.

I am not sure I like the leaving anything if they are not home. It might actually give them a heads up on why you are there, and also your intent. I guess it could weed out the "no interest" people. But many of the 'no interest' people already have insurance and they can turn out to be stone cold buyers.

I've found that the delivery notices work awesome as a tool just to know when someone gets home.

If they call me I never answer, but I know they are home and I stop what I'm doing and drive straight there.

I love those sticky notes. I've earned thousands from that goofy little sticky note. I'm amazed how well they work for me.

Also, I know there are IMO's that do and don't promote referral biz. I'm with one of those that definitely promotes referrals. I've earned thousands from referrals.
