Agents Need to Boycott Obamacrap

I have been swamped since October. I lost track of how many enrollments I have done but it's some where in the neighborhood of 420. I've only been paid on about 100 of them but o well. I was also aboe to enroll 325 seniors on MAPD's.... I need a nap.

I have enrolled about 55 people so far (no where near what I could have done if it were working on 10/1), but many of those will be heavy users of the plan next year. Most of the young people I have on my book of business are keeping their plan for one more year. Other young people I talk to say they will pay the fine. In their mind, 1% of 30k is less than the annual premiums, and they don't use healthcare now (right or wrong, that's what they think).

Not sure how we will pay for all this. The law will likely get squeezed as the losses roll in over time. I am taking the advice from an exec earlier this year, "write what you can over the next couple years....but work on plan B during the off season....I am not sure how long this will last and where it will go in years to come."

I think a plan B is very smart!

Only 325? I did that my first 3 days - and only 2 were re-writes. And it's been slow.

I didn't start the mapds until Dec 1st. Very disappointing...

I thought the last day of AEP (thanks for correcting my belief it was still Feb. 1) would be slow.

I've done 179 MA apps so far, all with true up. I wrote med supps on 37 of those same people along with 26 hospital indemnity plans. It's only noon here so hope to get to 500 before dinner.

So... As someone just getting into the Insurance field and having had yet to choose a Captive Company to start out with (Hand holding/training..etc).. What does Obamacare mean to me, from an insurance agents stand point in terms of commission, leads..etc?

We have to earn a living to pay our mortgage and contribute to the welfare state.
