Bankers Life and Casualty?

Re: Opinion of Bankers Life and Casualty

Ok, well I just became an agent with Bankers in the last 2 weeks. The training is going well, they are even paying my way to a training convention, food, and hotel. I just started but I am making close to a thousand a week and I just received my state insurance license at the end of August. What is said on the forum kinda scares me and I want to know what to look for and is there anyway I can make more money faster, I have to agree most of the prospects they give me are old and repeats. Other agents have recently seen them or they are tired of the calls. We do work with Colonial Penn and those leads pay off really well. Is their a better way to get leads and be more successful. Thanks.:err::skeptical:

I did extensive research on Banker's (I got hired there a month or so ago). I also spoke with the branch manager that hired me and a trainer before I committed to anything and I found there is absolutely NO way in heck you'll be able to find a better way to get leads than what you're given through the cold calls and whatever else they give you. I'm trying to think of a way to generate leads without being able to actively market yourself without cold calling (and Banker's doesn't allow much in the way of marketing yourself).

Get your training and try and get out of there. There's no money to be made at Banker's.

Re: Opinion of Bankers Life and Casualty

My neighbor started his career with Bankers, then went Indy and now has gone back to Bankers as their new branch manager claims, he got a deal he could not turn down.

He has directly tried to recruit me, he did say he would love to talk to me about the truth behind Bankers so I said what the heck (while I have no intention of joining Bankers). The only way anyone will ever make money at Bankers, regardless of what recruiters will say is to become a field trainer, unit manager or BM. If you remain an agent your entire career no way you will make the kind of money that everyone wants to make. I believe mangers make a 40% bonus off of what their agents write.... So at least now we have some more truth about BLC.

Trust me, I have no intentions of joining BLC, but apparently you can make money at BLC just not as an agent your entire career.

Re: Opinion of Bankers Life and Casualty

He went indy and then came back to Banker's? Wow, I bet he's about the only one that's ever done that!

Was he struggling indepedent or was Banker's offer just too good?

You're probably right about having to be a branch manager/trainer in order to make anything at Banker's. But I wonder just how much you have to sacrifice your integrity and morals to take that position. That is something I would NEVER do. I know I can make money in this business as an honest agent, and even if I don't make as much money as someone at Banker's because of that then that is fine. I know I'll sleep better at night.

Re: Opinion of Bankers Life and Casualty

Yeah he probaly he is the only one who has ever done that, I think Bankers just gave him a really good offer. He was and Indy for several years so I think he was doing well, had his own office, 3 or 4 agents working out of that office also. I think those agents also had few agents under them.

He brought everyone over to Bankers when he left, I mean do the math bring 4 agents over to BLC, make them all Unit Managers and then they bring their agents over....

I would not personally do it but hey... He does no selling just recruits and Bankers picks up the overhead.

He is kinda of "wishy washy" guy I give him 5 years at BLC then he will be off to somewhere else.

Re: Opinion of Bankers Life and Casualty

I got hired at bankers and am getting ready to take my state test. what is said on this board about bankers is scary but I figure I will use them for my training. If I make decent money, I will stay. If not, I will branch out on my own after a few months of training.
