"Canned" Presentation or Not

Page 1 is the 3 reasons, why did they send it in..
Page 2 is what are final expenses and the cost..
Page 3 is the guarantees, why the program is different...
They also have an optional page which is 3 options on how to pay

I understand what you say about eye contact, as it's so important. But do you think some of these people, that aren't used to business meetings, feel uncomfortable with nothing to look at except a stranger agent eyeing them down the whole time and writing in their notepad?
Especially if they have been making regular visits to their shrink... :)

If that is all the 3 pages are then I'll pass. I can do that on my own without dragging yet another piece of paper with me.

As for eye contact, I don't mean to lock eyes and never look away...lol.

haha yeah pretty simple, but I'm talking about from the prospects perspective, not ours. You don't show them anything to look at when discussing the guarantees or whole life?

Using a few page presentation is great. Make sure you aren't reading it like a PowerPoint presentation in class and it will do wonders. It's a great way to engage with your clients.
I actually do my presentation on my iPad with Apple's version of PowerPoint. Works great! Just like you said, you show a slide then talk about it. Planned, not canned! Asking questions, engaging in conversation along the way. But the visuals really drive home the major points.

No, no I don't. Not unless I'm trying to illustrate something on the fly and I use my legal pad.

Look, if I can't explain it good enough for them to form their own pictures in their head then I'm just not doing a good job of simplifying the issue. I don't need the 3 reasons written down for them. I can say them slowly and clearly enough to be understood. I don't need to show them some illustration of how much a funeral costs. Trust me, they already know about how much it is. Etc, etc, etc.

Sounds good suppose I'll give it a whirl and write the business under my King Todd contracts. Looks like Brian's presentation at NASB also uses nothing but the lead card for props and doesn't seem to even get into fe costs.

Some people are visual learners some need to hear it. Some need both. There's a reason high level sales typically includes some type of presentation material.

Almost everyone comprehends better with both, unless the visual is too complicated, in which case it becomes a distraction.

You can improve comprehension even more if you can figure out how to engage tactilely, but I'm afraid some if my clients would take that the wrong way!
