Columbian Agent Threatens Letter to DOI

I was replaced over $1.20 a month.

The customer has the right to spend their money whereever they wish.

Just go find a new account to replace it.

Im sure down the road I will replace someone for $1.20

ps my policy was a 10 pay, his new policy is whole life with extra 2500 in coverage.......so in the end the person is going to pay more, if he lives longer than 10 yrs:swoon:

Well actually I was looking at the app last night. The Columbian policy was for $3K at $81/mo. I actually up sold her to $6K for $140/mo.

I'm sure he replaced me saying I raised her payment. But I doubled her coverage. Ill try to get out there today. Can't tmw, maybe Friday. It sucks, she's 1 hour the opposite way from all my leads. :1err:

Edit:those prices were for every 3 months. She was my only direct pay...quarterly.

Unless the policy was replaced (by hoosier) less than a month ago, "Mr. Columbian" was not "preserving his book". He just got himself a brand new FYC. Probably a lot of bluster about the letter to the DOI. If he has any brains at all he will shred the letter that he had the client sign as soon as he gets back to the office. That being said, I have a drawer in my desk that has a section devoted to "scumbag agent's cards". I almost never get replaced but on a couple occasions I have have the replacee conserve his business by lying, etc. Those go in the drawer for special attention. Also, all BLC, Columbian, LH, First Insurance (regional morons), etc. all go in the drawer. I've seen some crazy stuff out there but there is no way that I want to get involed in a DOI inquiry of another agent. Just replace the crap and move on. I don't think I would call this client back either. You don't have anything to worry about with the replacement, but they sure as shiite are going to take a dim view of "harrassment". Find out that dude's last name by going to the IN DOI and look up all Columbian agents and cross reference the phone, city, first name etc. Put his arse in your "drawer".

I wouldn't call her either. The Colombian agent probobly cooled off after venting it out on the phone call and will not follow through with his little letter threat, if you call on the client again she might call the other agent and stir it all up again. It's Best to just move on from the little $***storms and go find a new client with some sense.

Revealing personal information of others, member or not, is a big no-no on our site. The only exception is revealing a name that is part of someone's username or in their signature or profile.

Ok. Sorry bout that.....................

Yes I agree, just move one and put that in your file folder along with the agents name so that if you do run into him again, you will have to secure the sale and be prepared.

Sometimes raising coverage AND increasing the premium on a fixed income can backfire. I usually go for raising coverage OR, giving them more coverage AND lowering the premium.

Just keep that in mind. People love paying less for more, but regardless of how much more coverage you give them, the premium is what they have to pay every month.

Now this guy says that the whole Oxford policy is being thrown out and the Col. Policy is being reinstated and Oxford is supposedly going along with it.

His exact words were, "What you did is being undone with full agreement of the company you wrote the policy with."

Now I gotta call Oxford. Can they retroactively take back as earned commission?

Oh and he threatened to call the police if I contact him again lol. Says I've been calling him from a blocked number ;)

Yes, if the client shows that there was something improper the company may just say that it is not worth the fight. They will rescind the policy, charge you back and eat the issue cost. May be better to just eat it and walk away. I would also make all my notations right now while it is fresh in your mind.

I have done exactly what this guys is doing. Sounds like he is good at it. He has nothing to lose.
