You don't list the meds on the Americo app. The MIB does not show med. That's the RX check. It's supposed to show all med, but it doesn't. I've been told that it's inaccurate 40% of the time. Don't know where that number came from, but that's what the word is.

When I first started writing Amercio I would list the meds in that box at the bottom of the medical questions page. They told me to stop doing that.

They do have a build chart, so be sure than check that.

Does you client take more than 40 units of insulin per day? If not you should look at AmCon. If she's over that, don't bother with them.

Hey JD I haven't look at the KY app, but in TN and GA they ask if they were diagnosed prior to age 40 with Diabetes. If so that knocks that out of level. (he said she was diagnosed at age 38).

Good luck placing her, I would say Monumental would have worked but they don't write a face amount that high.

I guess you are talking about AmCon. Yes, it asks if diagnosed before 40. I see now that he said it was diagnosed at age 38. That's a no go with AmCon.

Thanks for the info guys, I do appreciate it very much. I did put the age/ diabetes issue in there to show that Genworth wouldnt buy it.

I am going to submit it to Americo this weekend. Am i right is not putting any prescription medication on the app? I thought they asked for it?

BTW today I met with a lady about a mile form the other one I am having trouble getting bought. She was 71 on a list of meds a mile long with all kinds of things in her past that one might think could cause problems getting bought level. So in my presentation I kind of made excuses and tried to prep her we might not get it bought level, whcih she understood but I was replacing a graded policy which was one month shy of 2 years.

Called her into Foresters expecting to get shot down. They approved it level. This lady could die any time and the other lady seems quuite healthy yet they turn her down.

It's almost like throwing **** against the wall and knowing some is going to stick. Oh well, still beats the hell out of selling cars.

Monumental's question on COPD is "ever?". She would have to answer yes to that with them. That puts her at standard which is too high. But, taking insulin is also another yes in that section it makes it a graded benefit with Mon.

You don't want to fool with AmAm on it either. She may be able to say no on the app, but when doing the interview you will have the same problem you did with Foresters.

I would try RNA. She can answer no honestly to RNA's COPD question. {As long as she honestly hasn't been treated for it as she claimed}. RNA is OK for insulin as long as she wasn't on it before age 50. If she was, look elsewhere.

Also, look at Americo. From what you have posted here she shouldn't have any problems with Americo.

Re-reading your post I would try Americo first. They won't do $35,000, they max at $30,000.

I just had a COPD approved with Assurity. Diagnosed less than 24 months ago and taking no meds. It was referred to underwriting so for 4 days it was up in the air. I did plan to go Monumental standard if he was not approved with Assurity. I would however like an alternative to RNA (No go in Louisiana) and Americo. Any suggestions?

That would have been approved with Americo and AmCon and even Foresters.

Foresters would not write it level. Unless they changed their app. I tried to put a copd with no meds through them and it didn't fly. That's actually how the guy "remembered" a doctor might have told him he had a lung problem.

I have had several approved level with Foresters that were diagnosed with COPD more then 2 years ago and too no med for it. I have also had some denied by Foresters when the person told me they took no meds but meds came up on the script check during the phone interview. Had one of those this week. The lady told me she was told by her doctor 5 years ago that she had COPD but she had never taken anything for it. She answered no on the question during the interview part. When the interviewer came back to me she went over a medicine list as long as my arm. It was on speaker and the lady sat shaking her head still saying she took none of those.;)

I am filling out the Americo application as we speak on the lady we have been speaking about with copd from 10 years ago, with no meds taken for it and insullen.

She is a lesbian and her partner is paying for the policy. What do I call her relationship to the insured, lover, partner, street lover, lesbian lover, domestic partner? They do have the same last name.

The payor is listed as the beneficiary. The insured takes care of the payors 3 children and 5 dogs and a cat.

Most companies are okay with this situation. Just put down domestic partner. I think when Rick and Senior Advisor Indiana were doing their life insurances, they put down 'life partners'.
