DM Results Lead Connection

A large defense team for what? If I sent a flier with something to the effect of "Did you know if you have AARP/Globe Life Insurance, it may end soon?" Or "Are you aware you maybe paying as much as $30-$40 MORE per month for life insurance if you have LH, SL or Bankers Life?"

That's just what I was thinking, I'm not a marketer so I'm sure there's a better way to word it.

What would be wrong with that?

If you mention a brand of insurance in your mailer and they get word of it, I don't think you will just be ignored. Companies that have deep pockets know they don't have to beat you, they can simply wear you out with legal bills.

I'm no lawyer. I could be wrong.

I would tend to agree with this as I have had the same idea about outing my competitors, but in our litigious society that is a lawsuit waiting to happen. It would be cheaper to hire a European hacker to get policy lists from the company databases.

If you re an independent rep.... and you sell for an insurance company, you need their permission if you wish to use their name on a marketing piece to help you get clients.

Now think about it for minute, you are going to put the names of the insurance companies without getting permission, on your brochure that you wish to replace, and think you wont get into some sort of trouble?

But he is putting the names of companies he doesn't sell for so he won't get in trouble. They could take legal action to get him to stop and/or go for damages. They would have to prove damages and that is hard to do if you are telling the truth. They would send a cease and desist letter before they went to court. If he is not doing it on a large scale I doubt he has much to worry about. I would try to word it without using names. Like if you purchased through the mail or thousands are overpaying, are you?

DISCLAIMER: I am not a lawyer and generally don't know what I'm talking about!

Ok I get it... I like that idea "through the mail". Again, I was just mentioning this as a thought or idea.... I wouldn't do it unless I found someone else has done it with success already. I don't have deep pockets to go "testing" new ideas.

What would you all think of this that doesn't mention any names? Be nice it was off the top of my head.

Thousands of people purchase final expense insurance through something they received in the mail without shopping to see if they can save money. They are paying hundreds of dollars more a year then they need to. Are you overpaying? Takes about 5 minutes for me to shop and compare for you. Don't waste hundreds of dollars a year. Call today!

Whether you bought a policy through the mail or from an agent, you could be overpaying by hundreds of dollars a year. Call for your free comparison today!

Something like that might work....if u could target policy holders! Just mass mailing it, not sure what response ud get! Try it & let me know, lol!

I remember a post from a P&C agent probably last year where he would take out a large full page ad speaking of his competitors large rate increase as listed on the DOI website. He had good success with it. However I believe he ran into an issue with at least on carrier.

Just curious. What is the difference in what he is proposing and all the Geico, Progressive, State Farm, Allstate "comparison" commercials you see on TV?
