We went through a lot of this in the '60s with long hair on men.
Back then long hair was a social and political statement... anti-establishment if you will.
I'm not sure if the same is said for body art.
Anything in moderation is OK. A small tattoo of a flower on a woman's ankle does not bother me, but I don't find them on men to be visually flattering. If you showed up at my house in a polo with body art running from your wrist to your shoulder (male or female) I would simply not feel comfortable dealing with you with my own personal financial matters. However, if you came to fix the sink or to build me a porch, I wouldn't care.
As I write this I'm trying to figure out why... and I simply don't know.
