Easy/hard?

You will never find the perfect product for all circumstances... I always describe FE companies as being similar to cell phone companies... they are all very similar but each has their own bit of spice that makes them different....

IMO here is how I would describe some of the most used FE products in the industry:

Americo: best customer service in the industry, fast in home with no PHI, and pays on issue (with only specific IMO's), very appealing compensations, super competitive rates

Monumental: great underwriting with great app... good rates... good company to do business with. Pays level comp on older aged clients (very rare in this business)... pays on issue

Foresters: good product that has changed a bit over the years, but still very easy to issue with speed with their PHI.

RNA: still has a sweet spot with their new rates in certain age brackets... great member benefits (i used them for myself when i got lasik done one my eyes). Pays on issue as well

American Cont.: not much comp but very easy use...

UHL: best rates for women in the country... they also are very unique that they don't rate your commission on graded business...

Good list if you love Americo. If you are an agent that is using Americo then not so much of a good list. In fact, they should probably be at the bottom of the list or under the list.

You need to get out of the office and write some business and then come back with a list.

That is pathetic to use this thread as an Americo recruting tool.

this is for the seasoned boys only.what company is in your opinion is the easiest/hardest to deal with..in terms of 1.submission of app 2-underwriteing 3-getting paid. thx for all your advice in advance:)

You got answers from marketers in may cases instead of agent actually writing business.

Probably the easiest is 5 Star. They are pretty tough on follow up or things you have a question on but for all around as "easy" they are it. Phone interview if you want one or not required if you don't want to fool with it.

2nd is RNA. Same deal on the phone interview or not. Quick turnaround on issue. Easy to navigate website and on keeping the agent informed.

AmCon is 3rd but could easily be number 1. My favorite company to do business with. If their rates were only better they would be my "go to" company.

That's my top 3.

Monumental, Settlers, Foresters and Americo would not make any list I put together for ease of doing business with.

Americo is now pulling a Monumental and asking for inforamtion on policies applied for in the last year. That question is not on the application but they will ask after submission.

Ask one of these marketers that brag on Americo if Americo has ever paid a contestable claim. I've been trying to find that answer for almost 3 years.

5-Star - Point of sale approvals OR skip the phone interview (agent's choice.)
Accepting all forms of payment, monthly bill, debit cards, credit cards, etc. Liberal health questions and underwriting sticks to the apps questions. The no script check is bonus.
Smokeless tobacco is non-smoker rates

Wasn't there some problems/issues with 5-Star rescissions recently (lots of posts about it)? How did the "no script check" relate to that?

Ouch1 :twitchy:

You are correct about getting an answer from the people writing the business. Completely different perspective than a recruiter.

They have this love affair with Americo at EFES. It's unfounded but that's where his remarks come from.

Also, I took up for Ryan in the 1000 post forum when he was called a spammer. Then he pulls that crap.

I'm currently appointed with Royal Neighbors, Americo, Monumental, 5 Star and CSA. I used CSA for a SPWL for a very specific case of a 29 year old whose mother wanted to pay it in full for him before he died. CSA was the only place that would write a 10k SPWL for someone his age.

My problem is 5 Star pays me as earned. I know long term we all want to be as earned but I'm not to that point yet. I need advances to keep this thing rolling right now. Since they can't be my "go to" company right now who would you guys recommend as next best either from what I have or what I don't have?

The easier and looser a company is, the more likely agents can slip things through that should not be approved. An agent that does great field underwriting will have less of a problem. If you turn a blind eye you will have the most problems.

5-Star is no longer rescinding policies unless there is a death. But all companies have the right to at any time.

Companies like Settlers have the toughest underwriting at issue but rarely rescind anything.

I never found Americo to be easy. When you call in and ask a question of the underwriting department it is like speaking to a brick wall. They are clueless in my opinion and other than smokers and crazies, not worth having.

Their rates are not all that great for smokers. Good but not great. They are great for pipe and cigar smokers and chewers and dippers since those folks can get non tobacco rates.

Really only for the pipe and cigar smokers. A few other companies will go non tobacco for chewers and dippers.

But, Americo doesn't have you list the medicines but they do an Rx check. They don't have you list the companies that the person has applied for in the past but they require that from the agent after submission. Not only who they applied with but what was the out come of that application. Was it declined, rated, withdrawn, accepted, etc?

They are almost as quick to order an amendment as Monumental.

You haven't seen a writing agent list them as a favorite in this thread.
