I didn't think you would really do that...but you never know haha.

Before I start giving quotes, I have recently started to ask people if they have any idea as to what they are willing to pay or can afford. I then ask them if they are willing to proceed with an application today as long as I find something in their budget. This really spares me from sitting in someone's house for an hour+ going back and forth over prices and listening to them ramble on and then telling me "I need to think about it".
If they tell me that they are not willing to proceed today, I give them a quick quote, leave some literature and my card and pack up.

How do I get that job you originally described where I go around checking on foreclosed homes? Sounds like a good gig. Did it pay well? Sounds like maybe it did not.
