I'm considering GoDaddy's Website Tonight for a simple site. No quotes, calculators, etc. Just some info pages and video clips. I'll be sending people to the site rather than hoping people find me through SEO.

I've seen many comments pro and con. I'd appreciate opinions, experiences, and alternatives. Thanks.

I would say don't do it. Everytime I see one of those websites, I think about how cheap the person is for having one. At least delete the logo from the bottom.

There are tons of people on this forum that can make you a good website for not a lot of money. The little extra money is worth it.

YOu can also buy programs like xsitepro2 and make your own website if you know anything about computers.

I saw someone the other day offering good deals on website the other day on here for like under $300 bucks.

Offer still holds. I'll give the last one (of five) away for $250.

There are several fine hosting sites available. Personally, I use Go Daddy simply for the convenience factor. I can manage my web site, blog and email campaigns all through one dashboard. I am certain there are other services that do that but so far I am happy with my Go Daddy accounts.

I use Web Site Tonight for my primary web site. It allows me to make as many changes to the site as I need to and I do not have to call someone else to make changes. I can respond instantly.

Go Daddy does offer a free site with every domain name but those free sites come with their banner ad. It may be fine for a blog, people expect ads on those but I would recommend spending the extra money for a professional looking web site.

If you want to see what one built on Web Site Tonight for an insurance agency looks like, visit mine at www.theinsurancebarn.com . As I am reminded every day by web gurus, there is room for improvement but it does the trick for me. I am not as interested in SEO results as I functunality for my clients.

Hint: One of the rules for SEO optimization is frequent updates on your web site. Web Site Tonight allows you to update your site as often as you want. Even a minor tweak every week can help the Google crawler place you higher in its search results.

I created one through godaddy and have not had any problems. The set up at times can be a little daunting but other than that I have not had any problems. Also I do not have the logo on the bottom.

We do not really rely on our site to generate business, it is more just because you have to have a site these days.

Feel free to look at it www.EBSpecialists.com

In addition any critiques are welcome as I am am not a web designer.

I don't see anything about your site that would throw up a "cheapskate" flag. I like the fact that the godaddy logo isn't at the bottom of your page. Did you use the "website tonight" program or one of their design services?

Tha only thing I would suggest is that you have a picture of yourself on the "about us" page.

Thanks for the link. If you have the option of removing the godaddy logo, I would remove it.
