Health Sherpa 2016 Open Enrollment

Yagents, we also ensure your NPN goes on both the app and the final enrollment, if you are concerned there - i.e. if there's a CiC or passive renewal on an app submitted through us, the NPN should get carried over to the subsequent 834.

Is this different from last year?

I have many 2015 Sherpa clients that have pre loaded 2016 applications in their account, it requires me to sign as agent having authority to crack the app, and then Aetna is telling me that the first 834 AUTO renew file does NOT show my NPN.

How would you word these options to keep from confusing the shopper-applicant after they click the "Enroll" button?

In an ideal world, Health Sherpa would only make it an option if we are in our broker dashboard and hitting "choose plan" directly from there. If we are sending through email link after quoting or client is doing everything 100% themselves, client would use the fast app process with no choice of double redirect.

This confuses me, because I've read here in the forum that some prospects are seeing the so-called "Agent side" when clicking on a link we send them, or our assigned HealthSherpa URL.

But other's are taken through the multi-step method of quoting..the one where the prospect can enter his/her doctor during the process.

I want to keep all my prospects clear of the latter method..and also the possibility of being 2-way re-directed, it that's added back in as an option.

During November, the "un-assisted" enrollees have had an easy time of it with HealthSherpa. They were taken directly to the big blue page after entering their zip code. I want to know what conditions must be set/met to ensure that they keep going right from Zip Code to Big Blue to Enroll..with no detours.

rugerred - our process takes care of it. If you were to go directly into the agent/broker portal, that is the correct sequence of steps.

So there is no worries about a duplicate application for 2016? Even if we don't do a search, and just do the fast app? That has been questioned all over the board and I haven't seen a straight answer yet.

Interesting. I wonder what triggers one over the other? I have taken a pretty active role, I use the email link very sparingly, and I have never sent the HS URL for them to complete 100% on their own so I haven't come across the two methods that you describe. There are some stinker plans for cheap and I want to make them aware of the pitfalls before they go ahead and enroll in one.

I'm referring to marketing the URL. I've had a few enroll on their own without even calling me. I believe these are called "un-assisted" enrollments.

With clients and prospects who receive a link to an already completed quote, they've already been talked to. Also, I type above the link a recap of what we discussed and tell them to hit the "Enroll" button for the plan we decided upon beforehand. This worked great before the re-direct.

Yesterday, when Sherpa was still a 2-way redirect WBE, I had a prospect who ended up enrolling in BCBS directly at HealthCare.gov, even though she started at the HealthSherpa link I e-mailed her. (Thankfully she was smart and entered my NPN at hc.gov)

For many existing clients who are being booted out of the Wide Blue PPO, into the Narrow Blue Choice PPO, I'll send a pre-populated quote and ask them to click on the DOCTOR LOOKUP to ensure that their physicians are present in Blue Choice. If not, they call me. Thanks to the pre-pop quote, we already have a range of options in front of us. Then it's just a matter of enrolling in the best one.

I have many worries about this?. I had one today thru ACA and there were 3 2026 marketplace apps listed. The one we enrolled in, 2 others that didn't seem to be complete. I had to toggle back and forth many times to check each one individually. Wouldn't let me actively remove them even if no plan had been selected. Left it alone and prayed. This is horrible!!

A REQUEST FOR HEALTH SHERPA SUPPORT:

Please configure the "BACK" button so that it takes the applicant all the way back to the quote-list page.

Right now, if we're in the process of entering an application, and change our mind about the chosen plan before submitting the application, and press the BACK button, it does not back out to the point of being able to choose a different health insurance plan. It just cycles around within the application portion of HealthSherpa. Thank-you.

-Allen

Note: getting faster responses here, than via e-mails to support, which is why I placed this request in the forum.

Ning, Gerry, Cat and the team at Health Sherpa - you are AWESOME! Clearly, you know what agents need. This OEP has been a rocky road, but you've maneuvered successfully, and proven that you have the best intentions at heart. Thank you Team Sherpa!

Also, by the way, I was working on a support issue with Brian at Health Sherpa, and his emailed answers were excellent. I like it when people give me the straight answer, a little background so I can understand it, and guidance on how to just fix it and be done. He did that. Brian rocks.

Sherpa has been great for first time enrollees with no children being placed into Medicaid. Outside of that, the double redirect actually seems optimal. Any comment from the Sherpa team?
