Health Sherpa 2016 Open Enrollment

----------

AS for the question about deadline, hc.gov says this

December 15, 2015: Last day to enroll in or change plans for new coverage to start January 1, 2016

https://www.healthcare.gov/quick-guide/dates-and-deadlines/

I didn't ask this year, but based on the last 2 years, they mean midnight EST.

I've always done them midnight PST, and had no problems. I know several of my east coast companies have sent out emails saying midnight PST.

I tried going direct through UHC broker portal as well and all I get is:

"¡La cobertura de salud está a la vuelta de la esquina!"

THIS IS RIDICULOUS.

i was finally able to get an app through UHC Broker Portal, double re-direct. I then went in and hit the 'delete' trashcan on my waiting Health Sherpa app. Hopefully HS won't still send it in (I hope delete is delete in this case).

Now I have one with Molina and trying to figure out what to do because they only use HS or Healthcare.gov.

I just went to ACA express. Looks pretty easy. So is this basically the same this as health Sherpa?

Any hidden BS I need to be aware of? If not then damn I will just resubmit to them real quick and check it out.

So is the last day today at midnight? Or to 15th by midnight?

CMS says 6:00 CST 12/15/2015, they use zulu time. Seriously, we were told 6:00 PM CST

Here is the best part - I just ran a quote on HS for the family and have noticed that deductible should lower with CSR. Checked the carrier chart to confirm, yes it is wrong. Went to run quote on HS and premium is different than on HS. Proceeded to Welltheos- rate is even higher. Created account on ACA express- rate is $65 mo than on HS(but deductible is right) but $5 less than on HC?
Can it get any better?

I had one that was hung up most of the day. Glad I seen that message on here. Deleted it, h.gov, done. Only three apts tomorrow, all current clients or those that have already engaged me.

Depending on how I feel I may give a standing order that no-new-engagements are given for those needing 1/1/16 coverage. Apts set for later in the week will be fine, but dang I'm tired.

I am tired too G. Gordon. Between this and Medicare AEP, I am worn out.

I too am exhausted --as are many of us. Ridiculous that we don't enroll after taxes are filed. . Then agents aren't busy with Medicare and business enrollments and could actually help without being so rushed.

My gut tells me that there's something going on behind the scenes at HealthSherpa that we're not being told.

Why would they put up a screen at the end of the enrollment notifying the applicant to jump ship and call HealthCare.gov to enroll, if they don't get approved in an hour or less?

I can understand this type of wording if today were December 15th...but it's still December 14th. Maybe the HealthSherpa owner(s) mistakenly think the deadline is tonight?

At any rate, the lack of response/silence from Health Sherpa in this thread is disquieting. If my pending apps don't get approved by tomorrow morning, I'm cancelling them at Health Sherpa and enrolling these clients at ACA Express. ACA Express seems to be the Government's favorite WBE this Open Enrollment.
