Health Sherpa 2016 Open Enrollment

Only one of my apps didn't go through and its because apparently UHC doesn't have any plans where someone can have a qualified dependent over 26 on the plan.

Florida Blue on the other hand does so I had my client sign up for FL Blue instead. One more reason I could strangle UHC.

This just in:HealthSherpa is no longer accepting applications for 1/1/2016 effective date due to technical issues with HealthCare.gov.

Because the Marketplace is currently unable to accept applications reliably, they have given us the ability to place your pending applications "in-line" for a 1/1 effective date. In-line customers must call the Marketplace by December 31, 2015 to enroll for coverage effective 1/1/2016. HealthSherpa will submit all unarchived pending applications for 1/1 coverage to the "in-line" list at Healthcare.gov at midnight Pacific Time (3am EST) TONIGHT. While we will submit your NPN with your customers' names, we strongly suggest that you follow the process below to ensure that you receive credit for their enrollment.

Customers placed in-line must call the Marketplace no later than December 31, 2015 and state that they were on the "in-line" list and would like to apply for coverage effective 1/1/2016.

How to get your In-Line Consumers Through for a 1/1/2016 Effective Date
You and your consumer call HealthCare.gov TOGETHER at 800-318-2596.
Have the consumer state that they are on the "in-line" list and would like to apply for coverage effective 1/1/2016.
When the Marketplace representative asks about who is assisting the consumer, make sure you provide your name and NPN.
You MUST make this call to HealthCare.gov no later than December 31, 2015.
Archive the application on your HealthSherpa dashboard after the call.
If you have received an "Enrollment Confirmation" from HealthSherpa for a consumer, they are enrolled and this message does not apply to them.

Hello all,

Per the communication posted above, because the federal marketplace is under load and putting both consumers and agents in a waiting room state, we have stopped accepting applications for 1/1 effective date. Here's what this means for 1/1 effective date applications:

1) We will get your applicants "in-line", meaning that they are eligible for an SEP to get coverage before 1/1. The process is outlined in the communication above. When we submit your applicants as in-line, we will also include your name and NPN. We strongly recommend calling in with your consumer to ensure your NPN is on the application.

2) You will have until 1/1/2016 to call into the marketplace call center with your consumer to complete the enrollment. State that you were in-line on 12/15/2015.

Apologies for the inconvenience, as well as any delay in communications - we are working hard to get the product back in good shape.

Thanks,
Ning

Maybe Sherpa just can't handle being an FMO/IMO AND a WBE. Pick one or the other. You can't serve two masters.

And for what it's worth, I had no issues with eBroker today.

Kenny,

I submitted many apps through HS the past 3 days and only 2 went through.

I signed up for acaX today and immediately realized I should have switched a long time ago.

All of my apps went through today within minutes of submitting.

NONE are pending, ALL are complete!

I'm now a believer! ACA Express is fantastic!

Thank You guys for helping me salvage the potential mess Health Sherpa was putting us in!

A heads up - HealthSherpa agent submissions will remain free (usually $10 per enrollment) for the time being. We'll make an announcement if that changes.

Also, looks like the 1/1 deadline has been extended for a couple days (until 12/17):

I personally understand it might seem like we could be communicating more, and hoping that we'll be able to do so more proactively after the dust settles in the next few days.

If you've sent out an email suspending enrollments through Sherpa, what difference does it make if they're free?

This makes no sense.
