If Money or Family Was No Issue...

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead - your next stop, the FE Zone!

:goofy:

This highway leads to the shadowy tip of reality: you're on a through route to the land of the different, the bizarre, the unexplainable...Go as far as you like on this road. Its limits are only those of mind itself. You've just crossed over into the FE Zone!

Rearden,

No offense, but this has nothing to do with this conversation & is plain ignorant & insulting at the same time.

But to humor you, I'll answer... It depends on where I am at the time. Since its more likely I'd be in the city, I guess #2 would be more likely but only by default.

And what's this have to do with anything? This conversation was about the south & my exp, not all places something could happen to you!

No more ignorant and insulting than your remarks.

While I do like you Toby, your remarks have proven a point.

In today's society, only white people can be racist. Anything goes for anyone else. Also, only men can be sexist, and if you are a white male, society would prefer you just not exist as you are the root of all evil.

Something I have noticed, racism is generally applied to people and not persons. My grandfather made a living working a debit route in the bad parts of town. I believe his clients were almost exclusively black. He respected them and wouldn't tolerate his children being disrespectful of black people. But when he retired and stopped looking at individuals and started looking at a group, some racism came out.

By and large, it is very hard to hate the person in front of you, but easy to hate the faceless group at a distance.

Here we go again, just about everything thats been "reported" that I said, I didnt.....and I almost guaranteeing its about to happen again now!

So tell me what was it that I said that was ignorant? What was it I said that was insulting?

And what point has my remarks proven?

And are u also insinuating, everything everyone said on this topic is correct? Cause I find it curious how much I was misquoted & proved my points & yet not 1 person admitted they misspoke...yet Im the 1 whos ignorant & insulting! Why am I NOT surprised?

Funny u mention ATL, and yes it IS the south, lol.

But I know this & even friends & family that live there TODAY will tell you the same thing. ATL obviously has a large population of blacks, but they will tell you dont go on the outskirts in the rural places....its like going back to 1950's!!

No, you didn't say this. Someone else must have written it.

So tell me whats ignorant about what ppl have told me who live there & my own exp?

Ok, 1950s is an exaggeration, Ill admit, but the fact remains....Ive been down south in rural areas & I didnt feel comfortable there....the rural places Ive been in were in Al, Ga, & Ms. I also have friends & fam in Ga & Al, who have told me, theres some rural places you dont want to go outside the city!

So are you telling me we are lying & ignorant, but you know our exp's better as a white man in Tenn?

Pls share HOW Im ignorant by saying this?

And how is it ignorant to say that a black man is more likely to be shot by another black man than lynched by a white man?

I read the paper every day and often catch the news as well. I can't recall the last lynching. I've seen plenty of black people shot, stabbed, raped, etc. by other blacks.

The closest I can think of was the first openly gay mayor in MS who was killed. He was black, but then so was his attacker. Or maybe he was the first one that was black. The mayor of Southaven came out around the same time. He got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and they asked about his purchases at a sex shop that he asked the city to reimburse him for.

Gentlemen, Gentlemen!

What do you expect to accomplish with the direction of this thread? Why not take these barbs back and forth if you must, to PM. It is quite impossible to retract the printed word here and context is often times lost. Lets get back to the discussion of selling insurance, sans the racial overtones. I, for one, find it quite unnecessary.
