IMOs Who Also Sell Leads...

What IMO makes a profit on leads besides maybe NAA?

The agent only needs to buy leads from the IMO if it's the best deal he can find on leads. But the agent needs to be getting his full commission levels in order to be able to make choices.

If The agent is getting reduced commission levels In order to buy leads from his IMO he is not in a good place.

if his IMO is marking up leads that the agent could buy cheaper himself, he is not in a good place.

If the IMO sells leads that have previously been sold to other agents, you are not in a good place.

Show me an agent that is getting "free leads" at greatly reduced commission levels and I will show you an agent who doesn't understand basic math.

Agents who are getting their FULL commission levels (see the FexContracting.com website if you aren't sure what full starting commission levels are for FE agents) are empowered. Because they can buy leads from ANY lead source and do what is best for them. If they accept reduced commission levels they often can't afford to buy leads outside of a "program" they are on. And that often includes working leads that have been sold and resold previously to other agents.

Empowered agents get their full compensation from day one. And they buy their leads from where ever they want. And they certainly want full access to discuss leads with all the other agents within the agency and buy leads that are PROVEN to work for the guys who hit big numbers week after week.

Good topic!

How would your commission levels compare to a call center? Let's use NorthStar as an example.

I honestly don't know. You would have to go to their website to print them out. Or call them to have them email them to you. I have no idea what they give.

Ours are right on our website so all agents can easily compare them. If you have printed them out anytime in the past 6- years they are still pretty much the same. A few companies have come and gone.

Is it just me, or does it seem like a conflict of interest to give out "free" leads...but keep 1/2 the commissions for those "free" leads? :skeptical:

I believe those models inventive the lead generators to focus on quality since they are only being compensated when both parties win.

Sometimes, selling leads at a profit doesn't necessary align both parties that way.

I was approached by a mail house that many IMO's use to buy DM from them.

I dont like DM because the competition is heavier and there are too many replacement artists that come and go in the industry.

When I was given the price per lead I was suprised to see it was a number of dollars less than what I'm seeing most people (some on this forum) are selling them for to their agents.

Made me wonder...

You should buy them cheaper and sell them directly to the agents and cut out those greedy IMOs. That would be awesome!

I dont sell leads to my downline.

I only get compensated when they do.
Sure you do.. In the form of reduced comp. It is like the old FRAM oil filter commercial... Pay me now or pay me later. There is no such critter as "free leads" . Just how long would you continue furnishing leads if the agent didn't produce?

I don't sell leads... you can try to twist it... but I don't sell em.

I get paid when the agent makes a sale...

Would a lead vendor give you leads and only have you pay them upon conversion?
