Land Of Lincoln

Thank-you Steven for laying out the procedure with the clarity that LOLH never attempted to explain in it's communications. It's disappointing that there's no "easy" way to enroll people in Land of Lincoln Health without going through that process. Guess I'll just stick with Health Sherpa when a current client says "Take Care of it, Allen. Enroll me in that LOLH plan you recommend".

I've only sent 1 to them so far only because client insisted on it. Enrollment went OK but I still don't want to send anybody there until I see how fast claims are paid.

They are OK with claims. Last year I have many clients there (100). If you follow the network (PPO), they are OK.

Also enrollment was fast and commissions accurately calculated.

I'm having a hard time enrolling people for the Land OF Lincoln I've done 3 so far but the only way I've been able to do it is from Healthcare.gov. First one I did was on the 9th and it's still not showing up.

What is the process to get this corrected? Do I just call them or do I have to fill out paperwork?

You can call them. This year I was missing 2 big policies. One phone call in September and in 2 weeks they were transferred to me. Next commission statement they paid everything past due. Great experience in contrast to BCBS.

I have same experience from this year. I tried even my own link with them, and I was directed to the Marketplace.

I've simply used Health Sherpa to enroll applicants into Land of Lincoln Health. Works perfectly every time.

LOLH said in one of their broker documents earlier this year that people don't show up in your client listing until the policy is actually put in-force. ie.. they've paid their first month premium and we're into that particular month, calendar wise.

FYI, they also are refraining from mailing any policy documents until they've received the first payment.

Yep..same as 2014/2015. They send a bill. Client pays by mail or by phone, then policy documents are mailed.

LOLH sent out this e-mail today. They've reached their Small Group enrollment target for 2016 and are shutting it down.

"2016 Small Group Enrollment News

As you know, at Land of Lincoln Health we have been focused on managed growth for 2016. Entering this year's open enrollment period, we set membership goals for our organization to help ensure that our size remains responsible and manageable. These goals allow us to offer the best services and benefits to meet our members' needs.

As of this week, we have reached our small group enrollment target. Therefore, beginning today, we will no longer be accepting new small group enrollees, both on and off the exchange.

Unfortunately, this also means our current small groups that are on-exchange (SHOP) will not auto-renew into a SHOP plan. However, both on and off exchange small groups, currently enrolled with Land of Lincoln Health, will be able to renew into a 2016 Land of Lincoln Health off exchange
plan.

To summarize, we are not accepting new small group businesses at this time. Our current small group businesses will only be able to renew in an off-exchange plan for 2016.

We understand that this may be an inconvenience for you and our small business clients. We will also be sending a similar communication to all small group employers later today to keep them informed.

We appreciate your partnership and support of our continued success. Your business is important to us, and we are making every effort to renew our current small groups.

If you have any questions please contact our Broker Services team at 844-674-3840."

I knew they were limiting Individual plan 2016 enrollment to 15,000 members. But there were never any hard numbers given for group. I don't understand the dynamics behind what makes SHOP plans so unappealing to LOLH.

Re: http://www.chicagobusiness.com/arti...amacare-insurer-halts-new-small-biz-enrollees

The above article makes me wonder if LOLH will wait until after 1-1-2016 to terminate individual/family plan enrollment. I certainly hope so!

If they shut off IFP enrollment before 2016, current and first-time LOLH customers who have not paid their January 2016 premium will be locked-out of LOLH, and have to quickly enroll elsewhere, maybe having to use a Special Enrollment Provision to get this accomplished. I'm not even sure if there is a SEP for people who are suddenly locked out by their existing, or recently applied with, health insurance company.
