Liberty Mutual

Hi NYC2phi....I tried to PM you but the system will not let me since I am a newbie here. I am a 40 year old female, I live in Gilbert AZ. Thinking of doing a total career change. I have no experience with insurance. Was thinking about possibly applying for LM later this summer. I work from home now and need to wait until my son finally goes to school in Aug. How is everything going there? Do you recommend taking courses on my own and getting licenced or just go through LM training if I am hired? I have been in a sales field for 12 years but not insurance and just looking for a change. Im a little nervous since I'm starting out a little later than most. PM me if you can I would appreciate it. TY.

Hi Joe. The system will not let me send you back a PM still. thank you for the message. What hours do you work and where is the call center located? I have 12 years of B2B and in my current job I am commission only. I do ok though and I work at home. I worked at a call center doing B2B sales in I.T. for 8 years then we lost the contract so I took my business over to a reseller and I sell into an established book of accounts. Once in a while I cold call but not very often. At my current job my boss knew i had a book of business to bring over so he hired me on the spot. So I have not interviewed in 4 years I will have to sharpen my sales IV skills and maybe have my ex husband drill me he is in pharma sales. You can do so much with an insurance license so I really need a change of pace.

How is the training? Did most people pass the insurance test on the first round? Whats the turnover like? Do you have just your P & C license or d oyou have life or health too? Are you required to close a certain % of inbound calls?

I plan on applying in Aug my kids will be on summer break amnd I need to work from home then and when my son goes to Kindergarten in the fall then I can work outside the home.

Thanks so much for the message.

Kim

Get your license now. Get your life/health license first. You can sign on with a good imo, and sell life/health to start. This will give you more flex time.

I am not in a call center I am an agent working in a local branch office. I know very little about the comp and structure of the call center for LM so I apologize for the confusion.

From a local office stand point, hours are basically up to you. The more you sell the more you can control your schedule. You will need to get a life license as well but neither of which are hard to pass. The local sales office is all outbound selling however when you first get started they help you with leads till you learn to generate your own.

Oh ok I thought liberty mutual had a call center. Are you working for a branch or did you open it on your own?

They do have a call center in AZ. You can do one or the other, local office you get hired for you don't open one your self but it's outbound sales, call center is inbound.

How long did you work there? pros and cons of it? Is it a good place to start out? What are you doing now?
