Mark's Waiting Room Prospecting Idea

I definitely agree. You would want to make sure that you got the permission from the business owner before placing any literature.

I think if you approached the business owner correctly it would not be an issue.

The point is, doctors, dentists, optometrists, attorneys, CPAs and so on DO NOT give permission.

True! But my experience is that pizza shops (mom & pop/take outs), Chinese food, dry cleaners, oil change places, etc. etc. do allow it. I've done it a gazillion times before while marketing other products. The same people that go to doctors, dentists, attorneys...go to these types of places too!

Also, think of all the pharmaceutical reps and various vendors coming in and out of the doctors and other offices. Call on the dry cleaners, oil change places, and others, and you can build relationships with the owners and folks there in addition to getting preferential placement for the brochures. MORE prospects!!

That is an extremely broad statement. I personally spoke with a doctor friend of mine this morning over coffee; who happens to have a clinic in the town that I live. I asked his thoughts on the idea and he told me that he would have no problems with it; providing the information was accurate and could be substantiated.

That would definately be a good read in a waiting room but, what are you putting with the brochure so that they call you and not some other agent down the street.

I've started asking a ton of places and they all say the same thing. They don't mind me leaving it, but said that they would not promise me that it would not end up the trash or that anyone would read it.

My doctor's office and Dentist office both said that I could start placing it in the waiting room. I guess the trick will now be to leave a couple of them , and to go back and make sure they always have a couple of them around.

You have to not junk the waiting room up with this. Do it in a tasteful manner.

You can always find a million reasons why an idea will not work. But, I beleive that the right agent could make some money using this idea. But it will take some work out of the agent.

Some of you might even know some business owners or have some friends that would allow you to leave the brochures in their place of business.
