Medicare Advantage coverage for groceries?

Devoted is giving $150 off apple iwatch here in FL and I just noticed last week that humana is giving a free fit bit for 2020.

All these "freebies" sound like a train wreck in the making to me. An agent enrolls someone in a plan during AEP for 1/1/2020, then flips them during the OEP to another. If they have an SEP, like a SPAP, they can flip once more.

Yes, I'm aware of Rapid Disenrollments, chargebacks, etc but still...

And that's not counting Duals, or some unscrupulous agents who will flip anything.

that just sounds like extra work to me. If I sit down with a client and move them to Humana, I’ll mention that they get $150 a quarter to buy OTC items and show them the book. “Hey you could get a free fit bit if you want”. I bet 99% of them won’t get it.

But if I’m putting them on the plan it’s for the main benefits. Hosp specialist etc.

I know you know that and you’re just saying there might be bad agents out there..I just can’t see why they would want to do extra work for the same amount of money.

Newer agents just out to make a quick buck and also thinking about renewals. But the problem is even with so many plans, not all doctors are in-network, or even accept some of the plans.

It comes back to bite them, sooner or later.

Medicare Advantage Plans Are Expanding Personal Supports and Services For 2020

It was "bugging" me not knowing who was offering the pest control services:

One early adopter of the MA expansion was Anthem Inc. and its affiliates. This year, it offered supportive services in about a dozen states, but in 2020 it is expanding the programs to 16 states. It also is increasing the kinds of services it offers. And it expects to roughly double the number of enrollees eligible for the added benefits.

The most popular benefits for 2019: Transportation and alternative medicine such as massage therapy. For next year, Anthem is adding services such as nutritional counseling, home delivery of food staples, pest control, and even support for service animals.
