MLR Senate/House Momentum - NAHU

No state has a working exchange since the final provisions of the PPACA won't kick in until 2014. I'm not taking about current GI states. The exchanges can only function with GI products and subsidies.

BTW, as an update, you can now search plans on healthcare.gov for carriers that allow same sex partners.

healthcare.gov's quote engine is a joke. The AZ section formerly had numerous insurance companies that I never heard of and that don't sell comprehensive health insurance. Now they've whittled it down. Too much. They quoted 107 plans, coming from 6 carriers that didn't include Aetna, nor any of the Humana plans except two, but it included 38 plans from Celtic (who writes Celtic anyway??). I ran a quote for the same test client (M-42, F-42, M-12, F-10), and my Quotit system returned 207 quotes (and I filter out a lot).

Another famous government site - medicare.gov. What more must I say?

interesting stuff.. can someone punch Waxman in the face for me? The bill was favorably reported.. whatever that means. It was nice hearing that a few people actually care about our profession.

For the most part, you won't see much from Congress until after the election. Don't expect anything of substance, including Taxmageddon or the financial cliff, until November, if then.

They voted, and passed it. Now on to the "full" committee for a vote, and then on to the House floor for another vote..... Where it will die on the vine.

you really think it will die? I thought we controlled the House and had Bi-Partisan support for this...
