My 1st LH Client!!

Delivery notice slips -- leave one on the door when no one answers your door knock.

They call you back, letting you know they're home. Then you drive around to visit them.

Works well and doesn't piss too many people off.

Maybe not in your area, but here it pisses people off pretty bad.

Ya, I understand. I probably would be pissed off by it, too.

Had a lady a few days ago I used it on. Door-knocked her several days later and she was angry about it.

Granted she was the militant "No Soliciting" type -- wouldn't let me in, wouldn't even tell me nothing, even after being polite.

I figure you're going to irk the people who wouldn't buy anyway, and those that have an interest in it will be "understanding," and want the information anyway.

It's funny. Right when I make two sales in a row from people who felt "scammed" by agents doing this to them, I come home and right in my mailbox is some cards to do this with. They came from One of my insurance companies.

These seem a little less misleading. They say I was trying to deliver information you requested. Has a place to write my name and phone number. I may leave one or two and see how it goes but I'll answer the phone when they call.

The ones these guys were using looked like UPS delivery forms. And they didn't answer the phone when people call them back. They just show up.

I guess you have to try to work efficiently when you drove a long way from home. I'm just glad I don't have to do that.

As long as the slip is honest I dont understand how.people could get pissed off. Alan Benedict is a fan of the technique.
Jd everyone is mad where your from...

:laugh:Right!! The one we have are the ones that look like UPS delivery notices. Agents are taught to not answer the phone when they call and to just go back there because you know they are home.

I tried that and it was a disaster. I rarely use them now, but when I do I answer the phone when they call. Rarely do they want to come by once they know what's it's about. In fact, it's almost never. I've sold one policy in 3 years of having those notices and that was a guy that owned two homes and lead card had been mailed to the one he didn't live in. I left the notice and he called me and told me he didn't live there and would like to talk.

I hate to use them because I think they are misleading and I don't want to start off that way with the person. I do very little doorknocking anyway and only as a last resort.

There are agents that swear they have great success with those door notices. They should keep doing it if it works for them.

Not my cup of tea.
