My First Batch of TM Leads. Questions on Best Practices

That's why Baskins @ Robins has 31 flavors. Some people like chocolate and some like vanilla. What works for one agent might not work for another. Each agent must try different things and use what works for them. Its nice for new agents to get advice on here about what carriers to use but the only way to find out what type of prospecting works for each agent is to try it.Some agents like door knocking and others don't.Some like to make there own appts and others don't.Each agent must look at themselves in the mirror and ask themselves "What lengths will I got to if I want to be successful".Will I work till 9 in the summer and knock 5 extra doors

"It's not the arrow, it's the indian."

I think I've heard someone say that before :)

Petey... Got some serious question. You said you're going to be ordering 100 leads/week to ramp up for summer. What mix of DM/TM will you be using? What do you expect lead cost to be? What do you expect your written AP per week to be? FTR, I think that's crazy as hell, but I've gotta respect your work ethic!

I will use that. My office works a lot on internet leads and I've gotten pretty good at those. The problem is I want to get good woth a few types of lead programs especially since I still consider myself a baby in this business. Thanks, Hoosier. I will do that today when I call the rest of the leads.

You are a smart man to take that page out of Hoosier's book. See that use of and emphasis on "right"? That is a tie down. More importantly, he is immediately snatching CONTROL of that call. Awesome!

Don't go bragging on Hoosier too much... It will go to his head..

I tried the Jane/Steve leads, They sucked for me.

Over the long haul, telemarketed leads are not going to be as strong a prospect as direct mail.

Think about it: they've only agreed to receiving a phone call. Not too much commitment there. With a DM piece, at least they've taken some affirmative action (filling out the card).

Nevertheless, many are still very successful with them.

DM is extremely expensive at about 475/1K.
