My First Week in the Wild World of FE

Adam Hale advertises for agents pretty heavily for San Diego on craigslist showing his 1099 for 1 million dollars last year. I was looking at getting started with someone right a way. Just want to make the right choice and not be bouncing around learning the hard way. Frankly, I'm a bit confused by everyones different opinion on companies...

I used to see his CL's ads up here in the LA area too...I was always skeptical, but maybe he's the real deal!! I was happy with my choice, but everyone needs to make decision on their own.

Being independent does not mean you cant have training and support. I know the LH marketers would like to have people believe that nonsense but it's still nonsense.

Do you have any company recommendations for me here in S.D.?

If you are looking for a solid company that is strong in Term/UL and FE you have an excellent company in your backyard. www.lifepro.com.

We have known them for years and producer training is their focus.

Thanks for the recommendation! Their office is less than 5 miles from my home, that's pretty cool. I spoke to them today and they said FE is a very small part of what they do. Their main focus is more along the lines of financial planning. I need to learn more... Do you sell their FE product?

If you are looking to be a fulltime FE agent then there is no better stop than EFES.

Thanks for the recommendation JD! I researched them via the forum and read a lot of positive feedback about them. This company sounds legit. I submitted my info to be contacted by them. I appreciate your help!

Yep.. at first when I saw the ads I thought this guy is arrogant. I answered the ad and got the pre screen from one of the girls in the agency office. The pre screen questions are:
stuff like below.

Requirements

  • MUST BE WILLING TO FOLLOW OUR SYSTEM
  • FULL TIME ONLY 50 HOURS A WEEK
  • POSITIVE ATTITUDE
  • DEDICATION/DRIVE/ & WORK ETHIC TO BE #1
more on this website:
The Golden Memorial Plan

(NO I AM NOT A RECRUITER)
BUT,
I will tell you this from what I have seen ad experienced myself..
Adam Hale is not arrogant , he is a very focused and dedicated sales manager. He does make the money and he does follow a system.
So if that is what you are looking for you really cant go wrong.
IF you want to be "captive"
I may post more info if people are interested in more details....

Other managers at L.H. would tell you he is an arrogant ass and not very well liked, and think it is pathetic and misleading that he whips out his 1099 at the drop of the hat.

We share the same FE Product as they do. They are a partner with us in a large NMO with the same FE carriers. So yes, we do sell the same products. We just have a more specific FE program than they do.

I tell you though, They are experts in Life Insurance in general and you will not do wrong in FE if you learn the Life process first with a needs based approach.

Maybe, but if the goal is to be an FE agent then they should get with an IMO that specializes in FE, not a jack of all trades.

For example, Newby hooked me up with Shaw for term cases. They have a pretty good deal for the back office stuff that I don't want to fool with for the few term cases I write. They also think they are an OMO for FE. They have a few FE companies. They are clueless about the FE market and the products.

So bing good at one thing is not also being good at others. I pity the agent that signs up with Shaw with the intent of doing FE.

JD, for SIWL, other than contracts what do you need from an IMO?
